Veteran Kraken drinker here. I've always found parts more useful than specific measurements, and its one of many reasons I love Kraken so much. Even when cooking, if a recipe gives me exact measurements to use, I actively look for a different recipe. With exact measurements, I need to figure out the yield of a recipe, then figure out how much I want, then do the math and convert the entire recipe into, often, ridiculous measurements (6 and 4/13 of a cup comes to mind, the amount of shredded cheese I needed for my mac & cheese this thanksgiving). Whereas if the recipe gives me a ratio of all the ingredients compared to the base ingredient, I can make just as much as I want, without issue. 1 part is, exactly as much of the primary ingredient as you want there to be in the thing you're making. For you 1 part could be an oz, or 3 oz like in this video. Maybe I'm a heavy drinker and 1 part for me is a cup. Maybe our mutual friend Dave is making this drink for a party, and his 1 part is 2 gallons. And we can all use the same recipe, with no extra math needed. I've always felt like exact measurements are the company's way of babying me. Don't tell me how much to make. I'll make as much as I want, lol.

It’s any size you want it to be. It’s a ratio, not a unit of measure.

Cocktails are essentially about ratios. The nice thing about "parts" is that even if you only have a shot glass instead of a jigger you can still create the correct ratio. Also since different countries use different units, (ml vs oz) parts is a good universal approach.

They probably have a bartender who speaks in parts instead of oz to make the drinks on the website. I knew a bartender who would for example say 2:1:1 and would mean 2 parts spirits 1 part each of the other ingredients. I also hate it

I was just training a bartender today on that using the cheap ingredients first. It's good practice. Great looking drink loved trying this! My most interesting one is a sweet potato old fashion with some banana rum
