Hawk 150 First Impressions And Test Ride!
Time to retire the pit bike and get a new bike! A little bigger, a little more powerful, and hopefully a lot more reliable. First look and impressions of the new Hawk 150. There's not a lot of content on the 150. Everyone has the 250, so hopefully I can provide good content on the little brother to the Hawk 250.
During the test ride you can hear a slight ticking noise coming from the engine. This is from improperly spaced valve lashing. I do fix this by adjusting the valves later on.

    I would use red loctite on all the moving parts it will precent importantstuff from coming loose , also that chain is very loose it shouldnt be more than 3 fingers i normally run mine at 2 fingers tight cuz if the chain comes off it can crack the stator cover and the stator and you will have no spark.

      Also little 110s like the bike you have are not super good so if i were you stick with yammaha, honda, kawasaki, and ktm even though they may cost more they are reliable and have a better feel because it rode my buddys 110 off of amazon and it did not even feel like a dirt bike.

    Yo man you don’t have to stomp on the shifter! It’s not gonna want to shift when the engine is off and it’s sitting still. It’s best practice to rock the bike back and forth when you want to shift and the engine is off. Also keep in mind the shifting isn’t instant, you gotta hold pressure on the shifter for just a moment

    Oh and don’t ride in first gear going down paths or hills 1St gear = take off speed less is better higher gear eg 3 = safer and probably be your most comfortable gear use 1st second gear for hill climb 😊

  • @carebears9010
    @carebears9010 9 месяцев назад

    Not bad for your first time 😊 Let’s me give you a little tip with DirtBikes you don’t need to press the clutch in when charging gear listen for the rev limit then off with the throttle and click it into the next gear you’ll find this method easier. Now as for changing with the clutch yes you can still use clutch changes but remember this DirtBikes always have back wheel slippage so never open the clutch fast and never open the rev fully it’ll spin out hopefully this will help you in your future riding I myself prefer none clutch gear changing

    So awesome to see more people getting into moto community. I know as some others have said but it’s so true. You would be much safer with a bike with bigger wheels and more ground clearance. On such an undersized bike, everything will feel big fast and scary. When you get into the range of a 125cc (4 stroke specifically. 2 stroke 125's can be a handful for novice riders.), then the 230/250 (trail class 4 strokes. Family friendly. Not race bikes.), 25mph doesn't feel scary. When I am blasting through a wooded trail at a leisurely speed, not going anywhere in a hurry, mostly sitting because there's no need to stand, I will be clipping along at 25-30mph on the speedometer. Every once and awhile the wheels leave the ground, and sometimes you have to bring the front end up. It's relaxing. Go to a dealership and sit on one of their air-cooled 125/150/230/250cc bikes. Something like a CRF125F/CRF250F or equivalent from other brands. Then look at used bikes in that size range. You'll have to learn to clutch and such, but if that feels daunting, go try a learn-to-ride course for either motorcycles or dirtbikes. The concept will be the same. If you take a motorcycle course, ask if you can ride one of their dual sport bikes. It will give you the closest feel to what a family-friendly-trail-bike will feel like, and you'll be able to learn good habits, good riding technique, and a good foundation to build off.
