Higjly recommend two fan made tribute films that act as unofficial sequels to the original Black christmas. They are professionally made and are Hollywood studio level quality. They're called, it's me, Billy, and it's me, Billy chapter 2. They're free to watch on youtube, and I highly recommend them. They are direct sequels to the original black Christmas. One of the actors that was in the original film even appeared in chapter 2.

Hi guys! Director of Derelict here, thanks for taking the time to watch and review, it's genuinely appreciated! Perhaps I can help with the nailing down of the black and white to colour and how it associates thematically with the story told. SPOILERS AHEAD. As you know the film is both in black and white and in colour, but where most films use this visual coding as a cypher for past and present, ours articulates itself around the events of one night. One night that has, quite literally, sucked the life out of the characters. Their lives become void of colour from very specific points in time. This is coded from the opening credits, where we see old videos of happier times in colour and the lifeless body of a man in black and white. We also have shots that go from colour to black and white and from black and white to colour, always in movement and at very specific points, always the same: the characters make a decision that will cause their lives to change, almost always irreparably. This is true of when Abi makes a decision in the prison, and this is true of when Ewan makes the decision to go through with his horrendous crime. Then finally, it is true when Abi decides to move on with her life at the very end, opening herself to letting love back in her life, it's a micro decision, but it's the only possible decision towards a better life. There's also another point which I haven't seen anyone pick up on yet, which is interesting, so I guess I am giving you an exclusive here in the comments of RUclips: When Abi recounts the event of the horrendous night her father was murdered to her uncle Henry, she sees Matt and the killing of her father in colour. That's because in her mind, the events are much different than they were in that of Matt's own reality. She imagines it as a much more willingful reality, hence she is unable to see, at that point, that Matt's reality is much the same as hers from that point on. Anyway, that's that.

Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video but also reply with so much information!!! That makes so much sense and now I really want to watch it again so I can pick up on the exact changes and movements as they happen!!! What a cool way to show deeper into the story!!

Possibly Norris as the dog licked his face at the beginning, but with the dog also going into the room with the unseen silhouette I guess it is up for debate. Although I kind of like that there are still questions around a film 40 years old

One of the fan theories is that Mike's father is the representation of William's partner Henry in the movies, so that's why he recognized the last name... In the games, Henry has the daughter and William has the three children. Michael Afton is William's son in the games, and he's the one who is the player character in most of them. No one is 100% sure if he's working with his dad or against him.

Bateman was like the Ray Winston character from 44 inch Chest, thinking and visualising what he would like to do but really could do nothing and it was all in his head, perhaps the lesson is that we may all be Psychos in the making who maybe have ideas of revenge or fantasies of this and that etc. but are just not so inclined as to see them become reality and so they never get off the floor much like the Ray Winston character in 44 inch Chest.

    • @theHorrorFriendlyPodcast

That's a really interesting take!! We did consider that it didn't actually happen, but a few clues led us to believe that Patrick Bateman does actually commit his crimes. Although, Paul Allen is still debatable due to us hearing he is alive at the end, however, no one seems to know each others names is this industry which could mean they were mistaken for someone else. Also, the real estate agent in Paul Allen's flat is very concerned to see Bateman, as if she knows about the bodies in the closet. But there could be another explanation for this interaction, so it is all really interesting to dig in to
