The Zone of Interest - Night vision scene
My heart skipped a couple of beats first time this plays, it's out of nowhere the first one, god damn. Very unsettling noises. Great movie!
I think it’s beautiful that the only time we see this film break its “fly on the wall” naturalistic approach to film making are scenes involving this girl. I think Glazer consciously chose to depict these scenes with an infrared lens not only to show that she is a light surrounded by overwhelming darkness, but that her deeds are so heroic and noble that they deserve to be shown even if it breaks with the traditions the film has established up to this point.
What is the sound name
I saw the movie on an airplane screen, so couldn’t really make out who she was…. It’s the maid from their home putting food for the prisoners?
She’s a Polish girl named Aleksandra Bystroń-Kołodziejczyk. She helped give aid to prisoners in concentration camps. You could look up more of her bio online. She was a brave soul
On an airplane screen? WOW. I may also watch this on the plane after my vacation lol.
What kind of instrument is used in this scene? It sounds like a demon burping.
It sounds to me like a human voice pitched down a couple of octaves with a big reverb on it.
The absolute darkest aspect of human consciousness.
This girl is for this film what the little girl in red was for Schindler's List, only here it feels so much more bleak, haunting and devoid of hope 😢
Wait, this movie is bleaker, more hopeless and haunting than Schindler's list??
@@kawaibakaneko Yes. Schindler's List focuses on the light in the darkness, The Zone of Interest shows how there's darkness underneath all of the light we take for granted.
This is FLIR, not night vision
I can't help but be reminded of US gunship night footage from Iraq and Afghanistan
She's Aleksandra Bystroń-Kołodziejczyk
BWWEEEEOOOOUUUGGGGGGH.
Mandatory woke DEI requirements demand there be a strong independent woman that don’t need no man in every film. The girl hiding food was put in for the wrong reason. Other than that the film was perfect.
The girl in the film is based on a real woman who the director interviewed during research for the film. When he interviewed her he was considering not making the film because he thought it was too dark. Then after speaking to her and hearing her story of hiding food for the prisoners, she became his beacon of hope. It makes the thermal imaging shots where she is a bright shining light amongst darkness even more powerful. Unfortunately she died before the film was finished, but her courage lives on in this film forever.
Bro you just don't like women admit it
terminal brainrot.
Huh?
Ha you couldn't be more wrong. This girl is based on a real person who actually did that. The actress is even wearing the original clothing. I suppose you think Alien is placating woke hollywood by having a strong female lead.
Only good character in the movie....
All throughout the film, he’s walking away from dark places with his family, turning on the lights where he goes, but at the end of the film, he descends into the darkness alone
That’s an amazing observation. I truly believe when somebody says they can’t revisit this film ever again, although true it’s a lot to take in plus the messages are a hard pill to swallow. It seems like a movie very well detailed that a revisit every now and again will help one gain even more appreciation in the mastery of the filmmaking.
His Wife ratted him out. They beat her son in front of her and she told them where he was
one of the most haunting noises ive ever heard in a film soundtrack
It sounds like noises of a demon doesn’t it?
scared the absolute shit out of me in the theater the first time it plays
same here, that thing was scary@@philsmith4333
@@philsmith4333scared the shit out of me watching at home, too
My dumass decided to watch it at home while it was 10:00pm
