I’m late but here’s a tip use around 40 or 60 pound braid and for the leader use around 40 or 50 pound mono and a small j hook or treble hook

Was using French fries today and caught 5 fish
I have one of these pen rods but I’ve modified it as the reel that came with it sucks so I got a cheap 1000 sized reel for £25 taped it on to it best thing I’ve ever done obviously kinda takes away the travel aspect but helps land more fish 😂(edit you should also use the “cap” of the pen as a butt extension by putting it on the bottom of the rod)
Wow that thing is a beast!
All the fish were amazing, but that Gar catch was Incredible! Those things always remind me of dinosaurs lol
