I Got A Trainer... This Ain't Easy!
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 года назад
My first few days with a CDL trainer at Prime, Inc. Got to drive a diesel truck. Finally trucking. Backing maneuvers aren't a cake walk. A heartfelt tribute to a good friend who lost his mom this morning featuring my guitar.
Prime, Inc. - The truth about your first week of training in Springfield
Просмотров 9 тыс.2 года назад
My experience with the first week of PSD at Prime, Inc. CDL training. Class A trucking school. Diesel eighteen wheeler.
Enjoyed the video! Not a trucker but found it interesting. Is it the economy as a whole with less demand or is it just slower due to your company?
@@smokeon1633 just less demand in general.
It's about time to see you again
No more lives?
@@LaciPetersonsGhost I need to...
Twisted D was just pad, now what is he doing?
@@jamesguest4741 he's still got that gig..... Somehow... I just texted with him a few days ago.
I went with Twisted D great trainer.
I failed @ Prime. I highly recommend prime. Great trucking company.

How many hours a week/day you average?
@@bageltv3489 varies greatly.
Id love to find a person to team up with. Ive been driving 17 years and I've teamed before and the money is just better if you focus on that. I just dont trust other drivers like that 😅. You really lucked out with that one right off the bat.
Good video man, you didn’t really have a destination initially it seemed like but you landed that plane lol. How long do you think it’ll take for the market to go up again?
@KingMeAOB things have been better the last couple weeks. Who knows how long it will last. I think this is just sort of the new normal for a long while.
When I was OTR I did 20 minutes of jump rope every other day. At the end of my day I would whip out my jump rope mat and start a 10 minute, 2 minute break, then finish with another 10 minute session. Then I would stretch when I finished. Jump rope is highly underrated and I feel men are too embarrassed to start for fear of looking dumb. But once you get good you will look like a boxer. 🥊
That's a good idea!
Is prime still a good place to go, as a lease purchase driver? Are they going to put driver facing cameras on all trucks ?
I think it's the best of the mega carriers, but I'm bias. It's been good to me. I think it's a great company to start at. As far as the cameras go.... that is what they are saying. Driver facing cameras in all trucks in the next 12- 18 months.
All new lease contracts include the clause for driver facing cameras. So any new hires should expect to have them and all current drivers should expect to be fit up in that time.
your short 20 seconds on tha 2 n a half minute mark...looser
#ooooooohyeah Welcome back
Thanks man!
Hope to hear more man
Great channel i subscribed hope to hear more from you i am starting trucking
Thanks man.
Are all of Prime's trucks automatic's?
99%.
@@truckshootlove well, that question was over a year ago and the answer doesn't matter now.
Hey brother my name is Brandon thankyou so much for your prime orientation/training video it has been helpful
I feel that stupid ppl don’t remember that far back smh
Still at prime?
Sure am!
What does TNT and PSD etc stand for
Hey brother loss your number what happened to you? Where you been at?
Still out here truckin' for Prime. Haven't looked at this channel for years. Just put up a new video. I'll message you my number.
I’m scared I’m not gonna pass my simulator test tomorrow, I did bad today
They should check employment and criminal background before you come in
Thank you beautiful person😊
Subscribed! For being awesome. Hoping to see and hear more of your experiences. Thanks man! All the best!
Thank you for all the information
What was the test like
Did you fail prime bud ? Where you now ?
I Await Your Reply
So Bro Please Allow Me To Fix This. You Said They Will Do The Pretrip Do They Accept Texas CDL Permits. And With That All I Do Than Is Go Back To Texas To Get My License??
So I heard you say that you will get your pretrip and for pretrip in Missouri and in your license and your home state so because I have my CDL permit with all the endorsements I'll do the pretrip in Missouri. will they Accept my permit in Missouri
You have your own hotel room?
In the SimLab whatever you do DO NOT call it a “video game”
When in a class turn your phone off.. not on vibrate or on silent mode but O-F-F OFF. you DO NOT. want to be the guy who makes awkward noises in the middle of class
I'm heading to prime training in may & your video gave some great advice I never would've even thought about bringing my laptop lol & again thanks!
How's it going so far?
I must confess this process is off putting and bizarre. I leave for orientation in a week. It will be something like a 17 hour greyhound bus ride. I feel like all this should be taken care of before I arrive, like what happens to those that something doesn't work out? They just get sent right back, and everyone's time is wasted.
I feel the same way..all of this should be done before we arrive.
I've had seven jobs last year, that probably would prevent me from getting any trucking job.
I don't know about that. From what I understand prime inc. is a little more strict on that matter. But that's just what I've read. Can't hurt to start applying for these jobs/classes and be forward/transparent and see if you can snag one.
Thank you brother. Headed there Sunday. Are you training? 👀
Excellent video.
How’s the trucking going man?
Did you have to do another physical?
Great channel man! Subscribing and hoping to see some updates and maybe even meet someday. I have orientation next Monday there. Prayers for your buddies family
He said bye bia. No longer truck love
So if I haven’t worked for a company 5 years history they won’t hire me? Is that what you said 😁
There is lots of trucking companies out there, as long as your record is clean I’m betting some company will if Prime doesn’t.
False i got out the mitary in 2014 and just collected my disability since until feb 21 2022 and i am going through the training program.
Started from the bottom, now you're here! I'm proud of you my boy. Keep it up, much love!
Dude you seem like an awesome person to be around! I’m going to Springfield tomorrow for orientation on Monday! Hopefully we can meet one day! Thanks for all the info brother!
Great information. Can you do a video on PAY. The most important thing everyone wants to know is pay during training. Lodging, food expenses, weekly pay etc. Thx!!
You used to get paid between $700-750 when I was there in 2017
@@dextermcgowan4723 it’s 900 week during TNT
@@josh890ful Oh the pay has went up good for you guys that's not a job,it's a lifestyle stay safe beautiful.

When I first started driving trailer I would get super tired and stressed out It takes time to get use to it
Can you go into more detail? I’m about to get into Trucking 👍

Do they do a hair follicle test or urine drug test??? I called and asked the recruiter but he said they can’t tell me
@David Henry prime does not
@David Henry look up hair follicle test they dont use hair from your arms /legs only your head and both test they test with go back 120 days at most.
Do urine I called a couple days ago
No i am here now they do not do hair test just piss.
@@patricklewis2199 is the urine test done at orientation or is it done before they bring you out?
Thanks for the information! Looking forward to joining at the end of February in Salt Lake City. Stay safe!
Did u look at any other truck comp to get yur CDL at like Swift or Roehl ? At Prime the Tnt 2nd part otr w a trainer.. yur really Team driving and seems Not safe at all for you rookie cdlsteringwheelholder driving a whole shift everyday ( by yurself) ( w/ in yur HOS for you) w trainer conked out sleepingdreaming in backbunk not watching yur every move. wth WTH... crazzzy Like NOT safe esp You or him or 4wheelers or Truckers or Prime. How can Prime do this ? Think Prime likes it bc canmake lots $$$$ off "using" low paying rookie frerrshCDLtrainee run that truck 24 hrs every day. Don't get it how Prime can get away w it.. and not have accidents like everyday. omg smh smfh! Plus trainer likes it bc he gets make $$ off doing lots more ( twice) the miles in his paycheck. But not safe at all for a wetbehindears mostly new CDLholder ( no otr exp, just got his paper ink still wet).. right? Be careful..Goodluck
