I lucked out they picked my name randomly on the nrl22 monthly COF show. 300$ off cert. I had it out today and it is very nice little hard to get use to it compared to the atlas. But is a solid unit.

@@joea4998 im gonna do some more testing tomorrow morning. And i checked the balance on that new chassis. It balances right around where the mag release is. I think a longer barrel would even it out

I used it this afternoon for practice it is a really nice unit very solid.

@@joea4998 same I ran my savage and cheap bipod for a month waiting on my cz build and when I went back to it with the accutac way more solid very happy with it

Thanks my guy did a great job with this still needs a few tweaks but it fixed a problem for me.

@joea4998 I have a hard time believing how well it shoot! Especially considering the shape it was in upon receiving it!

Honestly I get the same barrel in a 1” size and maybe go 24” long it is a great shooter but I still can use some extra weight up front to get this rig balanced. My current ammo is eley match I did my own lot testing and found a lot available so I grabbed a case. It was a big investment but I know the ammo is a solid choice and very consistent. But if you have not done any match’s yet I’d jump in with what ever you got and give it a whirl honestly. I started off with a cz pro varmint with a 16” barrel that got me to nationals my second year. Match’s are an extremely fun and I have met a ton of people competing.

@@joea4998 I appreciate all the feedback. I have the regular 16” varmint model. And i was just using some CCI target ammo. Had some decent groups but the ammo seemed pretty inconsistent. I will pick up some different ammo and see if i get any better results. I have a 4-16 scope right now but I may end up getting something with more magnification so i can get as precise as possible.

@@2ANinja give the Norma match a try and the tac 22 those bothe did awesome in my pro varmint. If you ever look for an mtr barrel let me know I have the one I started with on my open build that I’ll be selling.

I have not tried a vise that would be interesting to see how it groups without my input.

Was a great time for sure. Can’t control the weather although I would have loved to shut the wind off.. lol

I really like my pro varmint after I got the cheek weld sorted. This thing will hammer with the right ammo. And it’s very easy to upgrade barrels and bed it. It got me to the nrl nations in my second year of base class. I recommend it to anyone. Hope that helps.

I was shooting 50 yards to figure out what ammo it likes. I had an mtr barrel on first that one shot great but I wanted the longer barrel so I jumped and picked up the lilja. So far I’m happy with it still working out ammo shoots sk long range great and Eley match as well. Norma match does pretty good also.

I torque my action screws to about 36 inch pounds that seems to work well for me.

Thanks for the response I’m a little hesitant to break it down since it hasn’t even been fired yet , but the sling studs just spin and won’t come out.

@@johnloza9279 no worries just unscrews the two action screws the sling stud should have a small nut on the back to tighten up or remove. It’s pretty easy to take apart and clean. You also may have luck testing action screws torque settings. If you don’t have pillars I’d start at like 20 inch pounds then go up small amounts from there.

I’m experimenting with balance it seems like it could use a little more weight but it’s not bad for now. I’ll be on the hunt for some more sk and see what it likes.

Trigger works great still doing fine adjustments but I would def do this again. Very crisp and breaks like glass.

@@AlexandStuff I have been looking for a barrel so I can totally see that happening. I still have to swap my tigger out of my base class set up. But as it looks now I should qualify for a spot at nationals in June. So I’ll run it as is for now. How do you like yours so far? I’m tossing between ordering a lilja or Modacam barrel.

@@joea4998 that's awesome if you go to nationals, congratulations! I love my new setup. It's everything I could have hoped for. I just have to work on the shooter behind it lol. I think you might have to go with a lilja because the modacam won't fit in that chassis. It only fits the MDT acc or mpa because of the diameter.

@@AlexandStuff looks like I can fit up to a 1.25” barrel in it from mdts web site but I’d be ok with smaller if I can get the balance right.

The tac in the black box was great I found a great lot of it but now I’m out. The red tac 22 is ok not as good but there red match 22 is a touch better than the black box was it’s more consistent.

I am very happy with It I use it mainly for nrl match’s. The pan feature may come in handy but for me I really don’t think I’d use it all that much.

Sorry...I see in the title it's an MTR.

Picked up a base 457 and added the mtr barrel.

OK...I'm thinking about getting the Varmint model and putting it in this chassis and possibly swapping out he barrel at some point. The route you took is a great idea though. Since the actions are all the same on all 457s, it makes since to buy a base model and put on a chassis and different barrel. @@joea4998

If I were to do it again I think I would look at a custom like a madacam or something in the 1.0-1.20 heavy for balance. The mtr barrel is nice but not much better than my regular heavy barrel 16.5” on my pro varmint. A lilja or ibi or the new eabco barrel would work as well and be over 20”

One option for the 457 I've been considering is to get a barreled action from Desert Precision Gunworks (approx $1800) and put it in a XRS chassis, but that is getting close to Vudoo money.

They are there low rings.

Yes if I understand you correct the Nara case stop on the bi pod is sandwiched between the bipod and the lock.

I’ll agree with that my two Cz now do great with tac 22 black box. Red box does ok but the older black box stuff just smokes it.

@@joea4998 mine has the shorter 16.5” not sure that would fit mine

@@22lr_plinking I’d think it would be close but would work I’d have to measure mine. Balance would be off I’d say mine is still butt heavy in the back I may be ordering a weight kit def an Arca rail.

@@joea4998 I wasn’t sure if the chassis would extend past end of barrel or not. I know it would be very close.

It’s the European model so the threading for the barrel is 1/2-20 instead of the American version 1/2-28. The barrel is a 20”. They had them on special a few months back.
