The EX is a knee jerk response to the legacy fleet of the United States Air Force surpassing it's recommended operational time frame and the F-35 not panning out. It's essentially the same platform from 1976 with updated avionics, weapon systems, and new composite materials on the air-frame that will give it an extended lifecycle. In reality it can't dogfight a SU-35 and would struggle against the various iterations of the Flanker series. It can however defeat Eastern fighters in B.V.R. engagements. The SU-35 however holds several advantages in a merge. The differences come down to pilot training and missile technology. The truth is on paper the platforms are pretty evenly matched with the edge in several categories going in Russia and China's favor. If the Russians and Chinese ever bothered to upgrade or completely move on from the R-73 any advantages the EX currently holds would disappear.

S Korea need nuclear submarines more than aircraft carrier. If S Korea build aircraft carrier then it should be 60,000 ton carrier with catapult system like UK because bigger deck is safer to operate and able to use domestic fighters like KF21 saving costs over F35B. Aircraft carrier for S Korea will break its pocket. More efficient way for S Korea to have its own aircraft carrier is dedicated stealthy UAV aircraft carrier size under 20,000 ton using all domestic technology developing new war strategy.
