A baby cries, a man fires, another man dies, all to start a greater conflict, when will it end.

Excellent story line told in a short film, superb acting.

WW1 does piss me off for the was they just through good men away and didn't think of a better way sooner, I'm just glad America only spent a year in that nonsense war.

For how long will this keep happening... I can just hope that it doesn't happen to me.

My Great Uncle was killed in the "Great War", he died during one of the mustard gas attacks. Before shipping out he proposed to his girl, Winnifred Williams. As a child I received gifts from my "Auntie Winnie" who was a wonderful, caring older lady. I'm now 67 and it wasn't until about five years ago that I asked my mother who she was, as I knew mom had only one sibling, "Dorothy". That was when I learned of Winnie's relationship with my Great Uncle Harold. Winnie never married and was treated by mom's family as if she had been married to my Great Uncle.

Those young soldiers who are trained to hate their enemy don't often realize they could be killing their best friend in other circumstances.

The Swedish Mauser for all the shooting sceens was an odd choice, as was the lack of artillery and bayonets. Not a bad movie overall.

Shows us that war doesn’t just affect one generation but it’s consequences carry on for generations.

Sign of the times. Great film and very important lesson.

Looks like an excerpt from a larger budget feature. Solid acting, great camera work, sound and sound FX, editing and music score - all around. Overall effect is a poignant war tragedy with no low budget distractions (to my eyes)

War is the poor and powerless killing each other while the rich and powerful gain more of both

So many beautiful young people dying for rottening empires.

I have watched a ton of these short films and to me, this was by far one of the best I have seen. Made me wish it were a lot longer......

Please, don't try to speak German if you are not a native speaker! It is better then to keep to english... As a native German, this kills the immersion totally. It sounds wrong and you can't act, if you're not speaking the language fluently. It sounds so... unreal. But the film intends to show 'reality'... The moment I heared this fake-german language, the film lost my attention...

Amazing film. Great acting and storyline. Very sad ending, as is normally the case with War.

I think every soldier who's leaving for war should see this movie but even more those who send them to war and especially now in Russia and Ukraine!

And look what our governments have done today the western world today letting the worst kind of people in the world.

They fought for corporations not countries. They died for nothing. Total depopulation event. Fight to free the small countries ,yet Ireland is still occupied by the UK (as it was then) . I'd never fight to kill another man but I'd die trying to save him.

War is war and you shouldn't be afraid of what your duty is. The enemy will kill you before you do if you are scared or nervous or anything, don't be afraid of your duty and carry on with your job because no one really cares. Helping your country and killing the enemy is better than sparing him because one day everyone will die and it will just be one big damn thing. Be yourself and carry on.

The story started in 1914 and he went to war, but the helmets and uniforms for both countries are wrong. The movie is brilliant.

So many children without fathers. So many wives who lost their husband's. All this carnage just laid the seeds of the next World War.
