Good times at the @86cup26 event racing my Gen 2 BRZ in the Modified class. Today's event was at Willow Springs International Raceway - Streets of Willow running CCW on 06-17-23. This was my best lap, Race Hero clocked me at 131:12 during the third session. Please comment with constructive criticism, I'm looking to improve my time. Thank you to the 86 Cup Sponsors @GTRadialNorthAmerica @Counter...
Too late turn in..... back it up a bit. Glad no damage to you or the car. Pants probably needed changing though.
@@tomwhitaker2074 Absolutely, you are spot on. I'm grateful there was no major damage. Just a million rocks everywhere. When I got the car home I took off all the underbody panels, it was insane ha ha. Only damage was in my pants lol. What an amazing track. It was my first time there, can't wait to go back. Thank you for visiting my channel and dropping a comment.
@@BearMOTORing one are the best coaching tips I ever got at Laguna was to use the end of the candy stripes and not go all the way to the end where the triangle is in turn 3, 4,5, 6 and corkscrew, turn 10 and turn 11. Slow hands at turn in. Turn 9 you should not be out that far into the marbles so you don’t need to worry about it there.
That off looked so bad from my perspective... Glad there was no damage and you were able to drive home!
@@Cody.Schrank Oh man, it was a ride for sure. At least we got a couple good camera angles of it ha ha. Thank you for sharing your video and offering support at the track. You're a good dude buddy.
WOW 😮😮😮😮 that was close! Glad you are ok.😅😅😅
Thank you. Laguna Seca is a great and relatively safe track. The gravel slowed me down. They all have huge tire walls. Still, I shouldn't have been overdriving. Safety first.
Hi this is Dad. It looks like you had a blast. That takes a lot of skill. I would have loved to try that when I was younger. love you.
@@Norma-s8m Love you too ❤️
Nice but a windshield dashcam gives a better view of the track
@@johnhibbs6508 Glad you enjoyed. I sometimes record from my dash as well. I'll make sure to put out a dash camera video to see what you think. Thanks for watching.
💞Wow💜💜💜💜🤍💜💜💜
@@TokyoNightGirlLofi Thank you for your support. Side note, I love Lofi music. I just subscribed to your channel.
I love seeing Bear at the beginning, reminds me of my home away from home. I showed wifey and kiddo. 2 days ago, he drove his go kart so hard the center section separated off the wheel - completely. I guess going from 250cc to 420cc is a little bit hard on the wheels. That's the layout/configuration of streets I did with my buddy's exige. I was wearing contacts at the time and was cooking the chicane too fast when one of the contacts dried up on me from the desert air. Yeah that was a pucker moment. And then we found that the exige doesn't like it when you corner hard with less than 1/4 of a tank of gas. We were running street legal tires that Gail got for him, but they were yokohama 60-tread rating tires. We were peeling off the rubber at the end of the track day. Are you tuning with Hp Tuners? Or do they just make the heads up track display? e85 here right now is $2.44 a gallon! You had several nice saves by the way!
@@The3chordwonder Bear says hi! That's wild regarding the go kart, full send. Love it ha ha. Sounds like you and your buddy had fun and learned a few lessons that day. I also have a buddy who's contact dried up at GMR years ago. It popped out and he handed it to me as he was driving down the mountain. The logo is from an overlay that maps my speed etc to gauges from my lap timer data. Enjoy your awesome gas prices, I'm jelly. Thanks for watching. Talk to you soon.
Heck yea man. Get it!
@@socal-media-nerd Absolutely, thank you.
You should have trouble doing a sub 1:30 in a gen 2 with your mods.
I appreciate the feedback buddy 😃
Turn 14 just needed more dog.
Love it!
Freaking awesome!
Glad you liked it. Thank you for your support.
Those lines are getting tick-tastic!
Thanks stallion.
Man I miss our impromptu gearhead talks. I've never seen the big willow, but heard how fast it is. Looks like a lot of fun, and you know bear would have wanted to ride shotgun with the windows down! Not sure if he'd fit though, by now he's probably the size of my neighbor's horse!
Ditto, good times having our garage side talks. Big Willow is fast, turns 7, 8, and 9 are intense. I'm working up to going flat out into 9. Bear LOVES riding in the car with the windows down, he's a good big boy.
Sick!
Thank you!
Very nice. Glad to see bear! And the BRZ of course. That is the direction my buddy and I did on streets (The only time I drove). It was cool to see the 280z or was it an older 300z out there ripping it up too. Is that radar detector looking thing a tachometer/shift light? Probably much easier to see when driving 10/10 then an analog gauge.
Thank you! Bear is a happy boy. I believe it was an older 280Z, it was awesome seeing it fly on SoW. The red / green light contraption is my Apex Pro lap timer. It has a 10Hz GPS and ties into my phone app. It logs all sorts of data and lap times. The more green lights in a turn = how fast you are compared to previous laps. It also does predictive best lap timing after the session. I appreciate the comment and support. More to come in December. We have a back to back at Chuckwalla.
@@BearMOTORing Sounds great my man, I'll be looking forward to it. Oh and hey thanks for the tip a long time ago re GoCoax. Ran 150-ish feet in a sleeved/underground coax and I have full speed networking!
@@The3chordwonder Glad the Go Coax Moca adapter worked for you. I love mine.
Looks like one heck of a track. My buddy did a 24 hours of LeMons at Buttonwillow many a year ago. Seems like a faster track that streets of Willow. Hope y'all are doing well! Bear is probably as big as my neighbor's horse!
Buttonwillow is a blast. It has a little bit of everything. 24 hours at Buttonwillow, wow, talk about stamina. Yes, much faster than Streets of Willow. Also longer turns carrying way more speed. So much fun! Ha ha, Bear is a big ol' baby guy. He's a happy doggy. I love him so much. I'm looking forward to seeing some videos of you on the track when the time comes.
Looking great, the car sounds very happy. My buddy with the lotus ran yokohama's with 60 treadwear. He loved them. I can't remember what they were but Gail would know for sure. My only time there was the other direction, I think the CCW is much harder since you go straight into the skidpad from the straight. I will have to default to the nuremburg as my favorite track, just because it is so long for a single lap. Never been there, but it is on the bucket list for sure. Now, I want to see Bear take the powerstroke for a lap! :)
Thanks. The car is very happy and WRTeknica did a great job with the alignment. Nürburgring is on my bucket list as well. It must be crazy intense in real life going flat out. Playing it on Gran Turismo is exhausting ha ha. SoW is a fun track, rewards light weight cars. I did Streets CW in my STi, the more challenging turns feel very different going each way. Bear's game!
Bearly stayed on the track 🧸
I was lucky to have the Bear necessities on my side.
