How to do Solo Trek to Prabalgad Fort in Monsoon, Complete Guide
Prabalgad Fort trek is one of the best treks in monsoon near Mumbai and also easy trek. Tent camping at prabalmachi village is must do activity.
Prabalgad Fort is at a height of 2300 ft in Western Ghats (Sahyadri) of Raigad District, Maharashtra. Prabalgad trekking starts from base village Thakurwadi which is located at 50 KM from Mumbai and can be completed in one day easily. Famous and Thrilling trek near Mumbai Kalavantin Durg is just beside Prabalgad fort.

Descent to somwarpet side s easy or subramanya. ?.y m asking n very bad n getting down. Have slipped many times n previous treks.
Distance wise it's easy but somwarpet trail is steeper than subramanya or not I don't have idea.

Any preparation u did before going to do this trek to complete in same day?
Yeah I included squats and running in my workout after I failed two times and it helped me for sure.. Don't forget to be hydrated/use electrolytes drink on sunny day or in Jan- feb

Very inspiring buddy. I went there first in 2014, and finished in 2 days. Camped near Kallu Mantapa- carrying a lot of campung gears from bangalore itself. It was allowed to camp there earlier. This time I thought of finishing in a single day, and didnt carry any equipment with me. Unfortunately, the bus from Bangalore reached Kukke late, I started around 7:15AM, without breakfast and by the time I reached Bhattre Mane ut was already 10:30Am and I was starving. Had to wait for Bhattre to cook food for 2 hours. I knew it was not possible to summit after this. Besides, these days the Forest office doesn't even allow trekkers to go ahead post 11 AM, I didn't know this earlier. So i just returned after seeing the beauty of KP from VP for a few hours. Will attempt it again in some time. Body in shock right now, returned this morning.
Thank you for sharing your story bro...yeah it was allowed to camp.... how's your experience at that time... should start early in the morning and not wait for lunch at bhattara mane we can sure complete in single day .. All the best for next time

Bro, there will be a forest checkpost at starting point (subramanya village) or bhattaramane ...you can take permission after reaching there....
Can this be taken up as solo trek?
You can but route is confusing couple of times... weekends are best as locals and Trekkers go up
Bro we started @5AM and completed @5pm.we wasted time in playing near waterfall, otherwise 7-8 hrs is enough for it
Nice, there are two routes bro. Somwarpet route is a easy less than 8 hours and another route is Kukke subramanya side which is difficult and will take 2 days for first time trekkers
I have done KP 5-6 times. In it twice in one day. Last time I did was in 2019 monsoon season. You said once you had cramps in sheshaparvata and couldn't complete the trek. How did you manage to return back to base( as you were doing it solo). I also want to do one day kp solo. My biggest concern is cramps)
Superb sir, thats great. Massage and stretching gave complete relief to me that day. I rested more than hour on seshaparvata. Its Feb last week and a hot day so cramps were due to dehydration. From then I focused on drinking water during descend. That might worked for me to reach bhattaramane, rested for night and returned to base next mrng.
@@trekkingadventures561 During my first one day kp trek I started around 8 AM and completed around 6 PM. I was around 35 years old at that time. In my last hike to KP in2019( I was 50 years old) I started around 5.30 AM after having breakfast at Mysore cafe and returned around 6.30 in the evening. Planning to do once again on coming Sunday or Jan 26 for the third time.

Bro which peak has best scenery netravati or kudremukh Which one will you suggest And how to take forest department permission ?
Bro, if you want easy trek, < 6hrs then netravati, otherwise Kudremukh is best.. forest checkpost will be there at starting point of the trek, guide is compulsory for both treks, if u go with guide u will get permission

Thank you sir 🙂... As they are not dangerous i just ignored and enjoyed nature... If allergic, can try complete covering, leech repellent socks, sprays etc... But in monsoon can't avoid leeches completely....

If this is your first trek and afraid of leeches then wait for some time bro... otherwise just go because it will be scenic post monsoon..

@@MAFIAFF21 last weekend my friend was there and told leeches were less and it's beautiful so just go bro .... just don't rest too long during trek and careful during the night stay

@@sharathkumar4493 Sir, it's a clear route from seshaparvatha, 1 KM to KP peak which will take 60 to 90 mins... I explained and showed the route at 14:00 minutes in the video
