Lewis Air Legends
США
Добавлен 3 ноя 2017
Where Legends Live.
In the century since the first warbirds took to the air, our brave military pilots have had a common mission. To preserve our freedom at all costs on the vast and daunting battlefield of the sky. This is the Lewis Air Legends mission: to preserve their memory while honoring their bravery and sacrifice. To bring the thrill of their incredible flying machines - and those they fought against - to as many people as possible in a truly international display of historic airpower. Especially to young people. Our pioneer aviators and heroes inspired Rod Lewis in his boyhood passion for flight, patriotism and love of American history. So it is for future generations that Lewis Air Legends will be a living, flying tribute to those who dreamed, built, supported and flew our brilliant birds of war.

Tense moments for the Connie over Sun N’ Fun
During the Sun N Fun airshow routine with the Connie, it was discovered that there was a front landing gear issue. Watch the tense moments in the air as these experienced pilots trouble shoot the issue only to discover another issue seconds after landing. The crew, made up of Rod Lewis, Stewart Dawson, Jeff Whitesell, Jim "JD" Dale, Steve Hinton, and John Hinton put their heads together to resolve the issue so the Connie could reliably fly once again.

Lewis Air Legends: What does it really take?
Dude that was amazing! Huge achievement! Congratulations!!! 👏👏👏😎
Gear down with 3 greens...no cycleing!
Folks back then could make unbelievable things with a drawing board , a slide rule, and the trusty old machinist's handbook...no CAD...no CNC...just plain ole imagination and trial and error.........now a days, we are totally dependent on China for nearly all aspects of engineering......our foundries are nearly gone, our tooling industry is a shell of what it was even 20 years ago.....make me fear for the future of the USA
I love black and white photography very nice
Who is PIC? Who ever it was the other one should shut up.
F6F-3 Hellcat. 👍🏼
This isn't real it's to animated
That, is a beautiful sight.
That is one sexy broad!
I sometimes wonder what won of these would be with jet Prop Engines.
What is the lead photography plane?
@@professorspark2361 Our B-25!
Those old fellas were shitting themselves...
qual o nome do jogo?
tem para android?
Normal: It was the Messerschmitt 262 This one: It wasn't the Messerschmitt 262
What a gorgeous plane
ONE OF MY FAVORITE MILITARY AIRCRAFT...👍😎
Worked along the Sydney airport flightpath when 707's were being introduced. 'Connies' roared over at about 400 ft, 707's much higher and smokier. Everything vibrared as 'Connies' went by.
Get them round pounders to Roswell 2025. The Bear needs to sharpen the claws in some new air.
Incredible!
kill the music
@@pigdroppings Thanks for the review, Siskel.
What was the eventual issue discovered to be? Seal let go somewhere? Great to see J.D. again after all these years. He was Bob Pond's chief pilot and mechanic at Planes of Fame East in the 90s; I was a museum and shop volunteer.
😍🫠
P-47 RAZORBACK...?
Tiger Cat faster than the Mosquito and P 38?
Man the FO really wants to do the PIC and engineers job at the same time it seems
Maybe next time theyll do another inspection pass after getting the 3 greens.
That Lockheed, for all the man hours, material and design was worth all of it. Truly a work of living, aero art that won't come again.
Most beautiful airplane ever made.
The only aircraft better looking than a Connie is a P-51, and that’s quite a compliment.
Without doubt, there's not a winged ship more beautiful that plied the heavens than the Lockheed Super Constellation. What lines and shape, to stare at it like observing a lovely & sexy female is totally understood by any pilot or man who loves flying machines...all you can say is "WOW."
I'd love to fly on a connie one day.
She got back in the air because mechanics fixed her not "techs"
Lockheed made the most beautiful aircraft until the 1011
The most beautiful airplane ever built. The Beechcraft King Air comes in 2nd.
11:03 That camera angle with no context made it look like a steep dive.
I remember going to Newcastle airport in the North East of England when I was a kid and seeing the Connie when it was in service. I can still picture it! Probably about 58 years ago!
You never say what the problem was. WTH?
Everbody was trying to be the Captain. The Captain did a good job. Less comments from the "helpers". Professional pilot here.
My dad worked for TWA for 47 years and the Connie was his favorite plane. I remember when I was a kid going to the airport in Kansas City where the main overhaul base was located. He retired in 82.
Did anyone notice the taxi light that slipped in between the main landing gear wheels? 9:50
Bird needs a new team, christ. What a shitshow
Not to be THAT person, but there are clear signs that the co pilot should have left the PIC to fly the plane and not give suggestions, other than the neccessary info required.
Great CRM throughout, getting everybody's input.
RIP to the runway light.
change engine turboprop sir
Good job guys!
I’m just going to say this . The fellow in the right seat is not being a copilot. He’s trying to be co captain, and making a situation more than it needed to be by calling for this and that , grabbing things on roll out that he wasn’t asked to do by Stewart (the captain). Watching this fellow, I’m glad it wasn’t anymore serious than it was.
One of the best, hope she keeps flying for a very long time! Best wishes from England
Great plane Great crew Great cinematography Thanks for sharing.
