I haven't seen Hawklords but I used to have an album Return of the....I saw Hawkwind at Keele University winter 79. Tim Blake took me under his wing when I'd had too many mushrooms. I'll never forget his kindness. He took me on a tour of the students in their fancy dress costumes.

Hiya Andy I have one of these camcorders and used the internal 5.1 mic on low for a loud concert hoping it would cope with the volume but got distortion.When using this external mic are there any extra options for lowering the audio input or does the external mic just cope naturally?

Sound is not the best on this one but it is very similar to the 1972 Hawkwind, I'm sure it sounded fab in the audience, I'd watch this any time rather than Hawkwind. Nik adds so much soul to the sound

Don't know if it's by sheer coincidence but the guitar lick sounds exactly right, if that lick isn't played correctly with a strong snare drum like the original (Which i've never heard again) it sounds like a bag of shite song, plus the tempo needs to be correct, i think maybe Alan should have sang it however, a soft voice doesn't suite it, good job though enjoyed it ;)

Well...the sound to quality is bound to be below par because of the specs of the recording device and the loss in transfer...there are some god awful clips on this site... but we cant have it all, at least you get a glimpse of what once was... stop nit picking...or get a life... like any live clips posted on this site..it can never justify the atmosphere of being there.

Hawklords sound like Hawklords. Hawkwind have had many diferent sounds over the years, and the current Hawklords lineup do sound like the Calvert driven 78 lineup. Cover band, hmmm...didn't the name Hawkwind come from Nik Turner's nickname, who toured with them last year? I'm sure the Brock fanboys think otherwise, but Hawkwind isn't just Dave Brock! And yeah, Alan Davey does rock big time, as he will in De Rots, Antwerp on thursday night with Gunslinger. Bring it on!!!

Hawkwind is much, much better than this ;-) This is just a parodi of some hasbeen's and wannabees.
