The importance of back pocket techniques
In Jiu Jitsu and even sports in general, we all have our favorite techniques that we will go to over and over to find success. But it’s also good to keep a couple less utilized techniques in your back pocket to use when the other ones fail. #bjj #brazillianjiujitsu #jiujitsu

Pass the guard every time with this guard passing system
Просмотров 55821 час назад
There are many, many, passing systems that exist out there. One of my favorites and one that has served me the best for the better part of two decades is forcing half guard then putting myself into reverse half guard and passing from there. It’s simple and VERY effective. #bjj #brazilianjujitsu #guardpassing #halfguard
Using the entire body as a target
Просмотров 12314 дней назад
In the striking arts (boxing, Muay Thai) there are typically certain striking points in the body that one aims for ( body, head, legs). In this video, I talk about other places one can strike on the human body that are effective targets as well. #boxing #kickboxing #muaythai
Why shadow boxing is essential
Просмотров 93321 день назад
There are many ways one can improve their striking. Hitting a heavy bag, mitt/pad work and sparring are all essential. But one of the most underrated ways to truly develop striking technique is shadow boxing. Most do it as a warm up without realizing that it can be its own workout and development tool. #boxing #kickboxing #muaythai
Use this half guard wrestle up to get on top every time

Sneaky and effective way to throw an overhand punch ( corkscrew)
Просмотров 635Месяц назад
In the striking arts , an over hand punch is a great weapon to have. It can go over an opponents defense and land with a high rate of success. The version of the overhand that I show here is a bit sneakier and crafty and is known to some as a corkscrew punch. The 20X middleweight boxing champion Bernard Hopkins used this punch quite a bit during his illustrious career. #boxing #punching #striking
The sneaky “Kimura” that no one expects
Просмотров 790Месяц назад
The kimura armlock is one of the foundational attacks in grappling, whether gi or no gi. It is a high percentage move that is used at all levels. The variation I show here is something I’ve seen other use at a high level and is something I will use myself from time to time as well. And it’s easier to get than you may think. #bjj #brazillianjiujitsu #jiujitsu #kimura #armlock

Why the jab is the most important strike you will ever learn

This is very much what I do; one other thing I do is if you're having trouble getting your foot out, you can kind of "trace" their leg with your foot until you find an opening, sort of like a kid's maze toy where you follow the paths until you find the opening to get the object out

The argument for wrestling up is simple. You don't ever want to be predictable, if I know you're climbing my back and only ever doing that it offers me a chance to get ahead of you mentally and launch a counter attack before you get my back.
