    Reading and understanding the score.fine with that but what about J.S BAch who composed with no indications at all!!!How would he read the score?

    the idea of not trying to do your own thing with the piece is at odds with one guy who they all respect, Glenn Gould - he would change the piece to suit himself and somehow gets away with it - and of course Brendel himself would famously leave out the first movement repeat of d.960, contrary to his ideas here about the sanctity of the score
