Have been looking into this topic for some time and was surprised to find while walking in my neighborhood, an old building of brick and stone that houses a church that has a carved stone plaque that reads "Golden Gate Commandery 16 Knights Templar" as well as other symbolic carvings. An internet search gave a few details about its history and now I know why my friend who is a low level antiques dealer has two of their ceremonial swords for sale so cheaply. I should think there would be a building like this in every city across America, even the concert halls are in Scottish Rite and Masonic buildings.
