An utter delight, I'd love to hear her do Don Quixote with Gatti and 'her' orchestra.
Video looks like it’s from the 80s :)) mustache helps
cool ! gaël
Move over, Starker.
Tatiana es una magnífica intérprete

After decades of listening to Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, and a few other usual names, I wanted to find something new. And, I find this to be my personal favorite after listening to over a dozen performances by different cellists on RUclips.
So beautiful
gorden Rhamsy is here @2:38
Wonderful...as always.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💡
Brava...
Her technique is not the best but she still makes a great sound!
I like the performance
One thing : your vibrato can be better
Saw him my first week in Japan (1986). Changed my whole concept about modern dance completely. Still going strong over 30 years later. The man is a national treasure.
bravissima !
Am I the only one who noticed that the cello soloist is not using sheet music or a stand? This is what impresses me so much about God-mode level players like her and Yo-Yo Ma and others... either the sheet music is hidden off camera or they play complex pieces *FROM MEMORY!!!* #Goals
Brahms doesn't always have to sound dark and autumnal; this is a bright, upbeat reading that is very convincing. The clarinet sound is fresh and matches the cello in its sonic presence.
Very charming piece for cello played by a charming virtuoso.
beautiful, pure - clean - warm - fiery and, best of all, fun ... this piece always makes me hum along, and tap my foot towards the ending :D
Certifié intergalactique!
Besides the music that you have in your blood, you are in love ... a cello. I'm a little jealous on it ...:-) Thank you, Canale di ClassicCelloFan !
Bravo! :)
I thought the cellist played beautifully throughout. My problem was not with her but with the conductor. Please, I mean no offence to the person who generously shared this with us on RUclips but the conducting (as ever with Fedoseyev) was dull and uninspiring. Watch Yo Yo Ma perform this and you'll hear something completely different: Not because of the cellist, who shows great intelligence, grace and elegance throughout, but because of the orchestral support. It is, though, a beautiful piece, to be ranked as highly as any other by our great master, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
+ComposerInUK stupid comment, sorry - comparisons, really? Draw up a table.
Bulbophile At last! A fellow human who makes stupid comments occasionally. Welcome to my world. All the best for 2016 and let the stupidity commence :)
ComposerInUK draw up a table
Bulbophile I'll get the drinks in...
Eric, do you even play cello? I have for 50 yrs & she looked very relaxed & sounded just fine, hence it was a fine performance. You must be a Liberal & what I mean by that is: Getting an intelligent remark out of a Liberal`s mouth is like putting someone in a round room & telling them to sit in the corner. As someone once said: " Nobody ever erected a monument to a critic."
+Robert Davis harsh, but good ending (y)
+Bulbophile -- I mean your comment :D,
+Robert Davis I agree with your comment about the cellist and her playing. But your *absurd* generalization about "liberals" is one of the most stupid comments imaginable, period. Besides, politics has *no* relationship to one's musical knowledge. I've observed a disturbing trend among apparent conservatives in the U.S. to label as "liberal" anything they dislike or disagree with, regardless of the relevancy of such a comment. As far as politics is concerned, dismissing any idea by labeling it as "liberal" is just a very intellectually lazy way to avoid thinking and giving a rational reason for one's disagreement. I would *like* to think that anyone who has played cello for 50 years is reasonably intelligent. Please use and apply that intelligence to your discussions.
Robert Davis, I have also played cello for many years. First at the age of 17?with the LPO and then with the LSO until 1968, to then freelance as a session musician in film and tv. This performance is highly strung and most certainly not my cup of tea. The sound is very metallic. Phrasing, is clipped and without regard to the musical content. I strongly recommend, this lady listen to some of the great artists of the past, when quality of sound and exemplary phrasing was paramount. A very disappointing performance.
Marvelous. I also listened to/watched her performance of Tchaikovsky's "Rococo Variations," and I very much look forward to her interpretations of other composer's works!
A joyous performer,and justifiably so...
amazing!
At 15:22 it is as if she had three hands xD
Thanks for this great moment
This is the original version, as written by Tchaikovsky - recordings before 1998 tend to be of the version its dedicate, Wilhem Fitzhagen, bowdlerised, changing the order of the variations to no good effect whatever. I'd go with Tchaikovsky if I were you...!
One of Tchaikovsky's lesser known pieces (and you'll wonder why when you hear it). It would be hard to find a better advocate than this. For those who don't know Tchaikovsky's other masterpiece for the cello, the Rococo Variations, please give yourself a huge treat and look it up... (hint: It's just to the right of this comment, sadly in two parts, but you won't be sorry!
아주 조아요~~~제가 지금 이곡하눈데 ㅠㅠ 어렵기두 하구 한편으론 재미가 있어요~~
love her performance!
she is perfect! excellent feeling of style, tempos and such good looking!
毛妞太棒了
She gets a beautiful sound from her cello. Great.
One word... amazing!
Muy buena Interpretación ¡¡¡
Oh, thanks God ! Truly impressive rendition....What emotion ! Tatjana is a great violoncellist...and we are in Wiena... Kind regards.
Oops, you're right, I was just confused where she didn't use the common fingering of open strings for the eighth notes for the first few bars. I've never played this before
What do you mean here? Clearly she has tuned her cello down....otherwise how could she play the opening chord...or the last note B!!!!
decent?
This is the most amazing piece of cello playing I have seen in 10 years. It is every bit as good as Starker...the King of this piece. I heard Ms. Vassilieva play the Prokofiev Opus 125 in Edinburgh a few years ago. She is without doubt one of the top 10 cellists on this planet at this time.
