I’m wondering what the Prophet 5 has that that 600 does not. Just looking at the panel I can see that it has a sequencer / arpeggiator as well as both oscillators having the triangle option instead of just oscillator b on the prophet 5. Seems like the 600 is perhaps a bit of an unsung upgrade.

I had an 808 for many years, then sold it off when people wanted to pay ridiculous amounts of money for one 🙂.. Bought the ISLA Instruments S2400 and had a ton of change left over to buy more gear ...

Just barely missed out on the opportunity to grab one of these for $350 back in 2018. Haunts me still.

Thanks for the video, not a complaint per se, but it'd be better without the reverb - it sort of rounds/softens its vigor somewhat, dry would be more of an accurate presentation of what it truly sounds like.

That's my actual P600 that Cole brought back to life due to its age of almost 40-years. It now plays beautifully and has been granted a new lease on life, thank you once again Cole. Also, FYI - Cole also refurbished my original 1991 Korg Mono/Poly, as well as sold me a refurbished and modified Korg Poly-61 and they both operate like new. I highly recommend Cole for your Synth repair and/or upgrade needs...!!

This synth goes places many others can't go. 6 Curtis Oscillators and Amps. Juno's are crap, On Juno's, you can dial up presets that will make you smile,, but a Jupiter 6 and a Jupiter 8 may change your mind.

In 2024 the Roland Jupiter 8 has a current pre-owned market value of 15,000 Euros. This is the current value of the largest annual auction conducted by renowned musicians and studio stars, the VEMIA. Anyone who pays more here has only themselves to blame.

I’ve been wanting to try to find one of these to play. I really like the Roland stuff from the 80s

At last!!!! somebody who does a demo that really shows the true qualities of the fabulous JP6. They are few and fare between.

I had one 30 years ago but sold it around 1999. It is a really nice sounding synth, I like how it looks. I find its got less sound characteristics to the Jupiter 8 and more to the JX/Junos, but it does sound different than the other Rolands of the time.

Oh how I miss my J6. A fantastic synth that I had a lit if fun with. The Juno 6&60 were the first synths I saw and able to play back in the day. Just something about the way they looked and sounded to me. A friend got the Juno 106 really nice and at the time I was one of the first people in NC to get the Yamaha Dx7. What a complicated piece of stool sample synth but h those bell and electric piano sounds. Then I was blessed to grab a almost mint J6 in 1988 for $700 cash. That was a steal for a 3grand aynth. Man did I live that thing. The look, the sounds just push buttons move faders and turn knobs till I heard what I liked then store. I actually made it Mt main midi controller. Sadly I had to sell a few years later with marriage and a child in the way. But I would definitely lice to still have it in my setup now. Great video as it was nice to hear it in action again. Brought back alit if great memories 💯❤️🎹

Love the JP6, great design, great panel layout. And so many features you miss on the Juno 106. The JP6 has a very distinct sound, being somehow cold but near at the same time. Blends very well with band instruments, without clouding everything up. Glad I own an MKS80, that can sound similar (but never identical, due to different circuitry).
