Excellent lesson. Simple, clear, doable. That right hand angle on backswing is critical.
Thank you, gentlemen.
Our pleasure!
Name one good player who swings like that. Maybe a good feel for some but it is never real.
google "hell drill".
@@Bourgeau281 Thank you. Had a look. Lots of drills showing how the hands work in a method that no-one uses. As I say, name one good player who swings like that, Morikawa may be closest but the club head has to rotate, laws of physics. Good luck with fighting physics!
Thanks
Looks like you were pulling the ball?
How to buy this?
we have them at the dome.
I need this in my life! I tend to go back to my old ways from time to time. Gotta get some more lessons this winter.
Throw a credit card in the back of your golf glove and you will feel it dig into your wrist
Absolutely. This would be a good one for you. Simple and easy to fix that open clubface (assuming you still battle the open face?)

Simple and informative-Thank you It’s something that I often forget.
Good stuff. Most people have trouble finding the spot at the top. I think the right wrist sets the left wrist position. Not the other way around which is the kiss of death.
I agree. Thanks for the comment
i played a lot of hockey as a lad and have always tried to tie the two together.
Great tip. Thank you.
He hits the ball way better than me with only one arm!!! LOL
That will just create a more inward takeaway for most golfers with their full swing Great for chips though
It can create more of an inside takeaway if not done correctly. In almost all cases I can get the club to the correct spot with very little effort.
I watched the video late last night and decided to take it to the range today. Results: It took no more than 60 seconds to start hitting the longest shots in my 72 years. Finally I have discovered the true power source of the swing. Wow!
Yep. No longer will you have a glancing strike.Feels solid right? Like you're hitting the ball with a sledgehammer? Marshmallow golf ball.
that clubface control is a must as opposed to just swinging fast and wildly with the hope it squares up correctly.
Very helpful lesson !
Glad to hear that!
Instructors never talk about the hands getting to the hitting position ahead of the clubface. Watch his slice example again. Hands are ahead.
Great video Terry! I'm gonna come see yeah in July sometime. Need some help with my short game. My long game has improved immensely since we had our last lesson.
Fantastic. See you soon
Thank you Terry.
You bet
How far apart should the 3 balls be?
Hi Steve, eventually just just one “club head” apart at a 45 degree angle. If it too close start with a bigger space and work towards it. It’s a great drill for feedback. Hope it helps Cheers Terry
@@nationalgolfacademy Hi Terry, thank you for the reply, much appreciated.
Cool
Thanks Terry. Been using this grip technique since our lessons this Spring and never been hitting it straighter.
It works well for almost all our students! Tks for the feedback Terry
The Mike Malaska drill from years ago
Where in the grip do you position the long thumb
Hi Armando, Place your thumb on the centre of the shaft then rotate it slightly to the right (not on the side) assuming you are right handed. Your hand position may need to turn slightly right or left depending o your ball flight.
@@nationalgolfacademy Great Thank You Very Much

great video, thank you Terry!
Thank you for the tip.
Right handed golfer, right eye dominant. I started putting Jack Nicklaus style wide open. Right eye looks right down the line. Putting immediately improved dramatically. This is hidden knowledge, many thanks.

I have never been able to relate or understand how to swing my club like an underhand throw or skipping a rock. If I throw or swing the club like that I don’t come close to hitting a ball. I am a high handicapper and don’t get it.
There are lots of different thoughts that create the same feel. Try the trail hand video. It may help you. ruclips.net/video/qE4zmNIR2bY/видео.html
Very nice happy i found your channel.
Does that towel drill work with full driver swings or should a little separation be okay?
Its a drill for shorter swings. a full swing you will lose the towel
Makes sence
this drill really works
Fucking awesome intro music!
You have the body action right but you are ignoring the role of the mass of the lead arm in the golf swing. The lead arm works the arm of a Trebuchet, getting pinned to the chest starting at address then flung off the chest like an unbelted car passenger in the car wreck, accelerating the considerable mass of the arm towards the target and pulling the bent trail arm straight. To understand how much force flinging the mass of the lead arm creates just swing the arm without holding a club. The key biomechanical actions to make the lead arm fly off the chest and drag the club head though the ball are the locking of the hip 45° open by keeping the back foot on the ground until the club head being dragged forward toward target by the lead arm and side bending away from target - curving spine sideways ) - during the downswing which causes the the shoulders to stop when the hips do. The lead arm flying off the chest when hips and shoulders stop - it feels like hips and shoulders have hit a solid wall when done correctly - pulls the trailing arm straight. The leverage of the bent trail arm is what causes the lead arm to swing down and toward the target not out away from the body. To understand the cause and effect just put the arms and hand in the top of backswing position without a club then swing them down, keeping the back foot on the ground so the hips are forced to stop. The reason recreational golfers don’t understand and used this applied physics is because they lift the back foot upon feeling resistance of the front foot to the hip rotation thinking they need to whip the lead arm, still connected to chest around the body. That is exactly why the swings of recreation golfer are much weaker than the pros who know how to “hit the wall” to release and accelerate the lead arm to target like a Trebuchet.
Great lesson thanks 😀😀👍
Great drill. Thank you!
