Not sure where this is, but we see a glimpse of Richard and Pat Nixon as they stand to wave, or at least their backs. Notice the Secret Service on the rooftops.

No, leave it up. I don't recognize the house- I wish I did.
My parents cut this out of wood and painted it. They made elves to go with the Santa, deer and sleigh. It was sold in a garage sale because we couldn't store it (except for two deer which my sister and I kept). I would love to see it again on someone's front yard and know that people are still enjoying it. I saw it a few years ago in Palatine, IL but didn't note the address. Is it still around? It's well over 60 years old.
@@donnatisoncik883 I don't know. I found the film in an antique store.
@@donnatisoncik883 I don't know where it came from. If that's a home you recognize, I don't mind taking the video down.
Is this in Illinois? In Palatine?
Dust instead of grass.
who is this annoying interviewer
Eisenhower, one of the boys...
Where is this from? Do we have a location? I would guess this is a school activity. The lady walking with them just reads as "teacher" to me, the kids more or less in pairs ...
@@benjclark I don't know. I would agree that it's a teacher considering the long line of kids.
The curriculum included him when I was a lad in high school. Nowadays I doubt he is mentioned until university, and then only if you choose ad American literature course .
I wonder what these two would make of the endless vulgarity of the American Spectacle going on today. Endless bells and whistles 24/7 and where one of the two major presidential candidates is headed either for the White House or immanent incarceration. An interview with Lewis Mumford, H L Mencken, or John Steinbeck from this period would be great as well, thanks.
He'd say, "Why can't you spell even with that thing you call a spell checker in that thing you call a browser?"
Get with the program Son!
I did my 4 years in the 80's & it was tough work but I learned a fair bit amount about farming & a hell of a lot more that wasn't.
Wow. I read his 3 books on new england literature 30 years ago in grad school. I just recently rebought them. Great stuff. America has had some great historians. I am so happy to have read them.
Pretty sad what Australia has become.
She’ll be right mate

I was a jackaroo on the multi million acre Brunette Downs in the Northern Territory in 1963 when it was owned by the King Ranch Pastoral Company. It was then one of the largest cattle stations in the world. At 21 years of age then it was one of life's great experiences. This film reminded me of those wonderful years
@@JohnDoughty-w6w King Ranch had a block up in the Tully valley when I was a young bloke to.

As Dan Akroyd would say after watching Masterpiece Theater, "There. That wasn't so good, was it?"
Any idea on a date and a place?
@@mrchopsticks3 Not really sure, but I suspect Ohio because of how some of the film was labeled. I'm not sure if the date.
@@oldpicturenewview3713 :10 is a Sohio gas station, so Ohio for sure. Nixon had a lot of connections to Ohio as his father was born there and his parents lived in Columbus for a time.
Originally seen in 1950.
As seen on CBS, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:45pm(et).
Originally syndicated in 1963. Alan Oppenheimer is "Gregory Usentovich".
200 11 minute episodes were produced (some with laugh tracks, most without).
I have my doubts the product was as good as the jingle
These are all so cool. Wish you were still uploading!
Been busy lately. I hope to someday.
I heard about her since my teens. All natural way of losing it. She was on a strict 800 calorie a day diet (I read it was a lot of baby food she ate). Not sure about exercise, but she did move around a lot, I guess they meant lots of walking. This is years before gastric bypass surgeries, that are common for people that large who want to lose the weight. She did it the old fashioned way. What an amazing story! It took a near fatal heart attack, in 1950, for her to decide to change her life around.
Nice. I have a Kodatoy projector. This makes me want to get it working.
I want one.
This is definitely what I see at work sometimes.

If only the Americans knew what there people of future would turn into. Once seen as a strange phenomena you see in circus at the time is now the norm in society today. Also just say right now I not criticizing fat people, never will as too kind for that. All I’m saying it’s amazing what we use to see as and oddity is now a normal occurrence in our lives.
HOLY MOLY
LOVE it !!
Do you know who filmed this? I was hoping to get permission to use this in a video!
I filmed that and I don't mind, but I don't know the rules on showing other people's buildings. Also, I don't think the pirate and roller coaster belonged to the P.Junction.
This is before my 600 pound life
Plenty of modern day dolly dimples on yt, sadly
She was such a charming, beautiful and funny lady.
How do you know this?
Wonderful story
Lovely to see Jane in her 20s...Amazing footage.
Great find!
It's about time they ahh put these up . She was cool
Thank you so much for sharing. Kudos. Great times there. Still smell the Engine. Ghost town was cool. Danced with the Indians on one trip there.

Thanks for downloading... fun show and I love Jane Morgan!
So much Americana! didn't think there was actual footage of a circus fat lady. this stuff is really cool.

I love the differences between the 40's and today: 1. Clowns big in the 40's. Not so much today. 2. Masks almost mandatory in the 40's for Halloween. 3. One kid just wearing a tie: no mask, not costume. Only in the 40's. 4. Halloween today is all about horror. 40's, not so much.
Damb 1940's you scary
These costumes are so creepy. I love them.
Oh how fun look at them all dress up I don't see this as a religious I see this is just fun
I remember seeing paper mache masks and jack-o-lanterns in the five and dime. My mom made our costumes. When I was 7 I had a broken arm and she made me a Spanish dancer costume with a big veil that covered my cast. That year I won first place in our elementary school costume parade. Now that I think about it, it wasn't called a Halloween parade.
That sounds so enchanting what a time to live
