Depends, the Vector will be better price to performance ratio while the Strix will be coming a bit more expensive. Which then makes the Strix coming into completely different price category, where other brands are a bit more desirable. (Hope that makes sense) If you do, however, find them in the same price/performance category, personally I would go with the Strix.

Would you have the link from where you are purchasing it? How would it work with the power brick, would it not come with US plug rather than UK one? <3 the ROG Ally X, personally I tend to use GeForce Now for gaming very often I am on the road and being able to play all games that I have on both my ipad or iphone is very convenient without the need to locally install them.

It is a good question, so far I haven’t seen any deterioration in performance, but then again I nothing last forever. Will keep you posted with regards to the joints in 6 months time!

Do you mind me asking, what do you plug it into to charge? How many Volts / Amps? I have no issues as such but I am using Anker 511 adapter and a different usb c to c cable and it works like a charm.

The power bank that I used was made by Anker 737 (amzn.to/4ghA9P3) it has a PD of 140w over a single port. There is a newer model called Anker Prime Power (amzn.to/4ftppvB), however, I don't think that it is worth the extra 50 GBP.

Hi @Johnsunlovespiano, you certainly can but you won't be able to sustain the battery percentage, currently for the Vector 16 HX that you are looking at has a combined CPU and GPU power consumption of 245W. Whereby through the lightingport you are looking at being able to Power Deliver around 100W with USB-C. The only option there that I could recommend is to buy a second adapter for 40 GBP from AliExpress, which are rated to 330W. I am really hoping that in the next couple of years they can make these CPUs and GPUs more efficient with similar efficiency as the M4 CPU/GPU from apple, which requires between 25-45W to operate.

Thanks for the comment, well to be honest, speaking to the owner (i.e. my brother) for the money, this is the only option when it comes of getting anywhere near RTX 4080 that runs on 12gb VRAM. For some context my brother is a tech enthusiast and changes laptops in a similar manner I change my shirts, and so far he has been sticking with this laptop since the day of the review. The only drawback is that the screen is not fancy and I suppose it has a lot to do with the price. ^^

definitely go for the higher display option QHD+ 240hz, otherwise ull really be missing out with the power of a rtx4080 especially with the performance the vector 16 offers

To be honest I am surprised of how affordable modern gaming laptops have become, this laptop in particular is owned by my brother not me ^_^. All my content is edited from my 375GBP 2nd hand Ipad pro, so I feel your pain ^_^.
