    Was at the academy in 1970’s , I have no idea what Grey space is . Not sure when it got added but we had no Excel spread sheets and I did not my first Apple II till 1979. We did have empty space of course on the paper schedule . Carrier landings in the passageway We’re the most fun . Foam was able to put out the fires when there was a crash ( shaving crème ) …. Great explanation. What responsibilities do the Mids have when on Watch?

    • @academyinsider
      @academyinsider Месяц назад

      Thanks for the question! It will depend on the specific watch they are standing! CMOD will stand normally an hour long watch where they will take tours of the company space and make log entries on the status of the space. The CDO will be responsible for sending accountability reports up to the Brigade leadership. Every night they will host "TAPS" where every midshipman will sign and indicate they are back in their living space for the night. They will then send that report to the Midshipmen Officer of the Watch to make sure every person is accounted for. I can make short videos to cover each different watch if you'd be interested! Let me know!

    The navy has apparently changed significantly since I was a submariner. My term of service was from 1975 to 1981 and all of my sea time was done aboard the USS Robert E. Lee, SSBN-601 (Blue). I picked up the boat in the Mare Island Naval Shipyard during a refueling overhaul and made 6 deterrent patrols after that, including the very last Polaris patrol ever. During the last patrol, I also became a Golden Shellback. 😁 The interesting part of that was our certificates. They normally include the time and date you crossed, but security restrictions prevent you from tying the location of a boat on patrol to a specific date/time so that part of the certificate had a bunch of X's over the date. We also had some midshipmen one patrol for a few weeks. They were OK, but honestly, the two going to the academy were dicks. One ended up HP taped to a table in crew's mess. The other had his bunk mattress soaked, rolled up, and frozen.

    Hi, dear! Your RUclips video is amazing. But It's frustrating when your video doesn't appear at the top, despite its quality. Proper SEO and keyword research for your title, description, tags, and other elements are crucial for visibility and views. I'd love to chat with you about growing your RUclips channel. Have a nice day! Thank you
