I was 18 years old when I wrote this song. Near the end of high school I had walked away from God in my heart although I still went through all the motions as a “good” Christian should do on the outside, but I was falling apart and dying on the inside. I was looking to anything and everything to fill the part of my heart that could only be filled by the One who was meant to fill it, Jesus. Finally, as I sat at a piano in a practice room at UCONN in my freshman year in college in 1997, I broke down in desperation to God to forgive me and to fill my heart with HIM again.
