I don't know anithing but. I think his voice vanished or something. If i compare to his Misfits days, and a little from his starting solo career, he got an a optimal voices. But over the years; his voice get perished or something? ....... sounds piainfuly bad ..... I don't know what happened to him, is his voice finished over the time, is he ok? I don't think that this is an a some kind of a new technique or something. He sounds like the time went very bad to him. Hope he is Ok. ..... He is a good musician and a good singer. It's a pain that someone with his skills get lost over the time, and get punished over his voice.
