You are old enough to recognize BS when you see it. LLMs are not intelligent. Humans still don't understand intelligence. LLMs are great, but they will never be able to replace nurses. Japan has been trying this for decades. We have been using application specific LLMs for a long time. There is no such thing as general AI or any AI. It is all marketing BS. Please don't waste your students' time with AI.

Around 17 minutes, indeed, people will just keep coding in the abstraction far far away from assembly type code but if all the people that know how to do that die out and AI/AGI doesn't know how to do it, what would happen? Maybe those jobs wouldn't get replaced?

Their Lucy project was incredible! I had the privilege of chatting with the character a few times on my channel. I wish they developed it further, but "The Simulation" looks very promising. In a few years I think we'll be seeing virtual beings in games that are indistinguishable from humans. And putting AI agents into virtual worlds will help solve a big part of alignment and safety issues before they're deployed in the real world.
