Oh my that 981 sounds good 😍😍😍
981 S. I am biased, I own one. Actually, both sound great!
Hard to believe the 981 is stock
The 987 sounds like not an Oem exhaust…
Yooo this sounds better than the IS500. My friend has an is500 and frankly its quiet af.
Fortunately that’s fixable :)
The 981 GTS with its 3.4l (Mezger like) engine and this phenomenal exhaust is maybe the roughest note Porsche ever created in a street legal car. Exhaust sound engineering at its peak
She sounds sexy. Thanks for sharing. 💙
bro do u recommend buying it for the price?
Yes! I have no regrets buying mine, but I got it used and saved around $40k ($76k used vs $106k new) and it only had 2k miles on it for a '21 model with dynamic handling (i.e. performance package). So I would recommend buying a low mileage used one and save a bunch of money unless you just have money to throw around.
They coming down in the 60s for the used market
@blaze376192 true, but that is for the earlier year models or high mileage later models. While there isn't anything mechanically wrong with the early 18-20 year models, I heard the suspension and transmission were both refined a lot for the '21 on up models. The early models had complaints of a rougher riding suspension, squeaky brakes, and a transmission that couldn't seem to always find the right gear. This is why I recommend '21 on up (plus a '21 has android auto).
@@ericdavis2312great, waiting for a few years to get one for cheap lmao
Hard to compete with one one of the best sounding Porches ever made: 981GTS. The 987 has a beautiful sound as well.
As an owner of both a 987 Boxster S and a 981 GTS I can tell you this is a very accurate representation. The GTS tends to turn more heads, but the 987 is a symphony in it's own right.
Everything stock?
As far as I could tell, yes. (This was a rental vehicle.)
this is stock, yes
@@pdxmonsterwhere did you rent this one from ?
@@vincenttr88242pac
@@yns44this ain’t stock
Both are hot, but I'd give a slight nod to the GTS.
Does this still have the catalytic converter?
No
From where did you get your mirrows?
They are the Reverse Retro bar end mirrors by Rizoma.
quick shift ?
No, standard shifter.

Thanks for the video
Is this the 302?
Kyle Eisenbach yup, this is the 302 Volvo.
@@pdxmonster I was saddened to see all the oil smoke all weekend. What's next for the car? Heart transplant into a new chassis and getting all re-sealed at the same time?
@@klr142 Indeed, that's the plan! Our next chassis will be a 245 wagon.
jjp great!
Send it!
Just want to know , where did you put your camera?
Intoxicating sound! Love the exhaust setup
cool track and looked like perfect weather and excellent driving! What are some of the major differences between the three run groups for an SCCA track night? Is there passing at all in Novice? Is it open passing anywhere on the track for the Advanced group? And how many cars generally go to Portland for a weekday event like these? Are you going Friday 7/29? I'm signed up and looking forward to it.
Passing is permitted in the designated passing zone(s) only for the novice and intermediate groups. At PIR, this is the front straight for the novice group, and both the front and back straights for the intermediate group. Open passing is reserved for drivers in the advanced group. Often the organizers will modify the passing rules at their discretion to suit the skill level and the manners of the participating group. Safe driving by the group as a whole is rewarded with more lenient passing rules. You will enjoy PIR. Don't lift on the back straight!
dang man! you're flat gettin' it on that track. Excellent downshifting, I'm trying to work up to heel toe as good as you do. Those triple 8's work good on your car? What did you have before these? Which run group were you in for this video? And will you be at the track this coming Friday 7/29?
Thanks! The R888s are a big step above the stock Pirelli P-Zero summer tires. I'm about five seconds faster around PIR with them. I was in the intermediate run group, and I won't be making it out this Friday, but I'm hoping to participate in at least one more track night this summer.
Beautiful video I love watching this kind of stuff. Would mind telling us your mod list and what spec the car was from the factory (track pack or not)? Also I'm sure many would appreciate this level of quality on POV videos even cruising on the streets! Can't wait till this channel blows up!
Great quality videos - I saw you post that you use a Sony ECMCS3 mic, but where is it mounted? Thanks in advance, keep up the good work.
+Graham Wellington it's taped on to the rear bumper, and routed up through the trunk and into the cabin with a long cable so that I can plug it into my GoPro directly.
One of the best onboard videos from PIR I've seen. Great angle, and amazing sound quality. Would you mind releasing what external microphone you used?
+FlyingByePhoto sure thing. I used a Sony ECMCS3 microphone.
Hey are there any track days on weekends? Seems like they are always on weekdays?
+Gemballa GT Track Night in America's events always occur on weekdays.
Awesome video. I just got my 2012 and am jonesing to get it out on a track. What exhaust do you have?
Chuck Myers Thanks! Definitely find a track as soon as you can. My car has the Flowmaster Outlaw axlebacks installed.
Sweet, I bought mine and it already hasd a Bassani system from the x pipes back, an MGW short throw shifter and an inch and a half spring lowering kit. I'm in heaven. But I really love the way yours sounds
Where in the helmet did you mount the camera? Really nice video, driving, and car :)
Thanks! The camera was attached to the chin of the helmet.
