    Great work ! Usually when the horses won’t let you touch their mouth, that’s because in the past some farrier put string under the lips to make them stay still!! In my opinion that’s really bad think to do

    Um why is a crupper needed? If you have a proper fitting saddle, a crupper isn't needed for a horse

    Ok, I have so much to rant about this video. I'm just gonna pick on the one with the lady saying the horse was going to the glue factory. Why the heck would a horse that could hardly be caught has to be shod? He looks like a glorified pasture pet that will never get ridden. Shoeing is meant for horses who are worked hard on a daily basis, or horses who require them for health reasons. And the fact that they own a horse that is too much for them to handle and they can't even train the horse to tie is just plain stupid. SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T DESERVE HORSES

    Have adopted a BLM mustang. He is a good boy in most ways but about 8 weeks, after an accident, developed a habit of bolting. Knew if I tied him, even if it was controlled, he would go nuts and possibly injure himself. Did a boatload of research and eventually decided on this halter. My horse worth $80? Is his/our mental health and safety worth $80? This halter is designed to stop the horse without pain and redirect its energy. You can type all you want about groundwork, but if the horse does what my mustang did, will eventually come down to what will it take? He has to accept the rope, has to yield his head. Will the rope break, will he injure his poll? This is a strategy that can help. Yes, we can make it ourselves if we are good at tying knots and are not afraid we may hang our horse if we screw it up. Save $80 that way. It's pretty obvious that the comment police are not using the halter and have no idea what it is. The only people who would diparage this tool are people who have never used it even once. You know who you are....the experts!! lol!!!

    Yes it is a gimmick. As a farrier I do use a training halter of a different kind which is very effective but like all of these devices it can be misused like this... Tying them to a tree. I got professional training on how to use the halter I have, which works off of pressure points. When it is used the way it is supposed to most people can't even see the light correction.

    It's only a restraint and it works. There is no abuse. The halter can't get any tighter. But of course there is another way and that's desensitizing, teaching the horse to accept.

    Is he being stabbed with a needle to try to make a point he will not pull on this halter? This made me so sad. I am truly proud to rescue kill pen horses now. They have been through things I have never thought of before they get there. There are so many wonderful ways to break a horse from this, that don't involve pain and FEAR! It may take me a long time but I would rather my horses be sane. !!!! God put man over animals to protect and care for them. Im truly heartbroken!!!

    For some of you bozo's post here, some of these horses are problem horse's and the owners tried working with these animals, if you think this a rough go watch some of the Amish ways of doing these things.... And horse's can learn alot in just 10 min's they are not dumb like some of you folks posting in here.....

    People like this get money because they make the horse react for the video and then "fix" the problem. Unfortunately trainers like me don't get as much "ahh" factor because we actually take time with the horse and work with it's mind to make a positive change. Yes this does take longer but the horse has a positive experience, the results last and the owners are taught how to handle their horse in a safe and positive way.

    A halter won't save a horse's life. They obviously did something wrong and THAT's why things went wrong. Saying the horse was almost on its way to the glue factory says enough about the way some people think about their animals.

    HOW TO TAME A SPOOKED HORSE, LET ME TELL YOU ALL ABOUT A BETTER TRICK THAT I USE IN GOOD OLD MEXICO. WHEN I HAVE TO SHOE OR APPLY A VACCINE. HAVE THE HORSE WITH A NORMAL HALTER ON HIS HEAD, THEN TAKE A DOG CHAIN WITH A PIECE OR ROPE ON THE END BECAUSE YOU NEED THE ROPE TO GRAB ON, THEN ATTACH THE DOG CHAIN TO THE SIDE METAL RING ON THE HALTER, THEN PASS THE CHAIN THROUGH THE UPPER GUMS OF THE HORSE, THE CHAIN WILL BE IN THE HORSES MOUTH, THEN PASS THE CHAIN THRUOGH THE OPOSITE RING OF THE HALTER AND KEEP THE ROPE TIGHT. THE HORSE WONT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING BECAUSE OF THE FEELING IN HIS GUMS. I SHOED AND INJECTED ALOT OF HORSES,MULES ECT WITH BAD TEMPERMENT WITH THIS TECNIQUE

    • @Linda-hs1lk

    • @TheTirado2
      @TheTirado2 10 лет назад

      Have you tried it Saartje? I guessed not, but when your horse or animal does not want to stay put try what I advised. It is better,cheaper and more effective that anything else. I have another trick that is called a CALDO, If you want me to explain then just keep calling me an idiot you dumb ass. Because in my world horses do not alway do what you ask and they will never stop being animals, so us as humans must be smarter that them and do what we have to do even if it hurts them for their wellbeing. Try my first trick when a horse does not want to get shoed or does not whant a vaccine, it will work garrenteed

    • @Linda-hs1lk
      @Linda-hs1lk 10 лет назад

      TheTirado2 We train horses for more than forty years. Putting a chain in a horses´ mouth is nothing less than horse abuse. Maybe that´s normal in your country, but not here. Have I tried it? No, and I won't either. We take our time with a horse. It doesn't have to be trained within a couple of hours or even within a week. And yes, if you think your method is ok and normal then I'll keep calling you an idiot.

    Some horses are seriously dangerous and need more force in training. I feel like this is a last resort training device, but I dont think it is abusive.

  • @RainbowsOverLeo
    @RainbowsOverLeo 10 лет назад

    You obviously have no clue how to handle horses, how to make them feel comfortable and happy to be loading, tying ect. By using this halter it is not comforting the horse or reasuring it, it's forcing, and just because forcing works, doesn't mean its okay. if you put one of these horse in a normal halter, imagine how crazy they would be. you're not fixing the problem, you're only making it worse, and i think you would have to be an idiot not to see that.

    • @Linda-hs1lk
      @Linda-hs1lk 10 лет назад

      I agree. It looks horrible they way they treat the horses. Instead of taking the time and have the patience they rather force the horses into things they obviously scared of. In that way they won't get less scared. Again, it's horrible they way they deal with this.

    • @HorsesIC
      @HorsesIC 10 лет назад

      Gail Springer You may have used a poor choice of words, but that does not excuse anything, especially considering that you are presenting a product. From your videos and website, you present this halter as the greatest horse device since the invention of the saddle, and you the greatest trainer since the Dorrance brothers . . . To say you are not training, and that you consider cutting corners in anyway acceptable, is ludicrous and shameful. Why would you even go out to see this horse if you only had a few hours? Very, very odd.

    • @PFLInc2012
      @PFLInc2012 10 лет назад

      HorsesIC You must be one of those people who knows everything and does everything perfectly. Please give me your name and address so I can forward needy people and horses to you. There are certainly enough out there for you to take care of. It would be great to hear your two hour solution to this mares problem, as that is all the time I had to donate. I am not an expert horse trainer like you. I sell a product that helps people handle their horses more easily. Please don't look at the Sierra Horse Halter if it offends you.

    • @HorsesIC
      @HorsesIC 10 лет назад

      Gail Springer Excuse me, I never said I do or know everything perfectly. And I said "why would you go out if you only had two hours". I never said I could fix her in two hours, I was saying nobody could. Doing something once never fixes the problem completely, and you market the Sierra Horse Halter as if one time fixes everything and all you need is the halter. Please don't twist my words around. You are presenting yourself and your product very unprofessionally. Considering the amount of animosity your product gets, I would expect a more careful response to simple questions and statements.

    Get over it guys! She did fine, of course we don't all know as much as so many of you. Torture?? Wtf!! little and kelsie, you have no idea what torture is and respect comes from leadership yes, but taming goes from slight discomfort to outright torture and this is nothing for the horse. Put handcuffs on and pull your hands free if you can, I bet you'll realize really soon that it's better to wait for mom to bring the key.

  • @akanewe
    @akanewe 11 лет назад

    Very interesting, never seen this in US vids. In Spain (please not South America) 99% of our stock saddles use a crupper (check "monturas vaqueras" on the net). Fondling the tail is an essencial part of taming because the crupper will come with saddling. We always play with the tail and slip a smooth rope or leather strap under and move it around gently before and during saddling attempts. Many types of cruppers, some take the tail before cinching, funny to see how they learn to lift their tails when putting on or taking off. Good luck!

  • @LittlePaso17
    @LittlePaso17 11 лет назад

    This is awful. This is not horse training, this is abuse. I would never make this "halter" as tight as it can possibly go. She's not being taught anything. Why can't people take the time it takes to properly train? Patience is what is needed. Gain some respect and then start slow. I'm not going to just go up to her, confine her, then mess in an area she doesn't like. I'm just asking for trouble. I'd lunge her and get respect, then I would tie her up regularly, and brush and get to know her and slowly work my way around her ears and head. She is not getting a release from pressure. She's looking for that release and not getting one. It's sad to see both these horses being treated like this. You're not trainers, you're abusers.

  • @LittlePaso17
    @LittlePaso17 11 лет назад

    You're scared of her. Plain and simple and she knows it. She throws a fit and you run away. Big no no. She was never submissive. I call it "submitting outwardly but not inwardly". Causing pain is not a way to get a horses respect. It makes me sad that people think they can man handle a horse and force it into doing something. You're only making the issue worse. Horse behavior starts with the person.

  • @kelsiebeaulieu5227

    - the problem is with YOU, NOT the mare! She doesn't respect you she respects the halter because it hurts. She doesn't respect or trust you. That's why she's 'all over you' as you say.

  • @kelsiebeaulieu5227
    @kelsiebeaulieu5227 11 лет назад

    You should be ashamed for using this halter! That mare was never submissive to begin with because you don't know how to handle a horse. She was just responding to the pain the halter gives her. Why don't you learn how to properly handle a horse and teach it to respect you instead of cutting corners and using a torture tool?
