Cecil Collins on Lafayette news

Short piece on the Lafayette news of former Leesville High, LSU, McNeese, Miami Dolphins running back Cecil Collins. Sorry the volume level sucks.
Cecil Collins 1997 LSU Highlights
Просмотров 143 тыс.15 лет назад
Highlights from 2 of the 4 LSU games Cecil played in.
5:57. What great shot. His body lean, ability to cut back, and at nearly full speed. And he was known for his power.😂 You could see just by watching the few games he got a lot of of carries that he was special
4:18 Cecil the Diesel was still faster than most wearing one sock and 1 shoe 😂
There's very short running backs, and taller backs like Eddie George. There's 180 lb backs, (used to be), and big lumbering 240 lb short yardage backs. Cecil the Diesel was the ideal height, weight, had great body lean and balance, ran a lot harder than his weight. Had enough moves, good speed. One of those guys that had basically all the physical traits at a near perfect level for a college running back. He had it all. So much fun to watch, run people over, make cuts, had breakaway speed. What a waste.
Actually, the last joke was pretty funny.
Cecil is the reason I became a big LSU fan….I remember that game against Auburn….I was so pumped watching LSU get the lead after spotting Auburn 14 points to start the game…..
Watching these highlights of college football of what it was then compared to today is like watching a whole different sport.
Larry Forster herb Tyler
Miss Charley Steiner!!!!! and Mike Gottfried and Ron Franklin!!!!! The golden era of espn college football announcers. Great blocking by Eunice's Trey Langley.
He could have been the greatest LSU RB of all time if not for his own issues.
Fournette before Fournette….
🤘🤘🔥
Amazing!!!!!
É ruim de doer os ouvidos , mas é engraçado.
If Cecil would had played the whole season, he would have, without any doubt, won the Heisman trophy.
Went to school with him, was a bad dude...look he paid his debt and I'm sure he is well aware of what he did...we don't need to keep saying it over and over...but when he was on he was unstoppable!
Served 13 years for felony burglary… was released in 2013.
Went to school went him He was cold to watch in person ...just didn't have the right crowd around him keeping him focused he would have been a great Running back ..RAW TALENT
Cecil “the Beast” Collins
The truly sad fact is that Cecil Collins was a better running back than Kevin Faulk.......yes, the same Kevin Faulk who now has 3 super bowl rings and is considered by many to be one of the greatest LSU running backs of all time.
Was at this Game w my dad
Doesn't he still hold the record for rush yards against ND at ND?
Hell of a duo with Faulk and Collins. Faulk not only had a great career with LSU but also with the Patriots. Collins could have done the same. Difference between one guy making right and smart decisions and the other just the opposite. Wasted talent.
I remember Cecil the Diesel.
Great highschool and collegiate running back... Not so much in the pros... Miami gave him a shot, even after knowing the trouble he caused
Highlight reel for Hall of Famer #66 Alan Faneca.
Also an Alan Faneca highlight video!
Cecil should have just chilled out. He could have been a multi-millionaire.
Loved watching that guy. Wish we could have had a full career with him
Cecil the deseil. What wasted opportunity
I played with him in junior high school, the heart of the team!
I’m 26 tell this day hear stories on this guy like a legendary myth lol way in hahnville Louisiana …he was really that good from watching this he did look super elite but can’t find no high school videos on him
@@OgeeThegodfather he honestly was that good, when I played with him we were in junior high and in the 1st half of one of our games he had over 200 yds rushing, he could have been much better then he was if he had a good team of people that really had his best interest!
@@josephclayton2225 damn man sad story brah i hate hearing stories like that....rare talent
Said y'all don't know ..play fullback for him ...Homie still got it now ...way better than a lot of backs coming out RIGHT NOW
Damn that kicker actually tackled him
Best LSU running back I've ever seen to this day what a waste of talent
Kevin faulk
This is not highlights
Unfortunately I was in prison with cecil.South bay corr.we played basketball together regularly.
This is when Tiger Stadium was still the loudest stadium in the country. Miss those days a lot.
It does seem quieter now. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still loud af, but I can remember around 2000 it was insanely loud, even with less people. I was at the Georgia game in ‘03 and that was the loudest game I’ve ever experienced.
Hershel Walker, Bo Jackson and Cecil Collins the best running backs in college history. To bad Cecil could not get it together.
Barry Sanders?
Top five rb in college I ever saw. 99 rating
I met him at Ruby Tuesday's in the Cortana mall in BR and he was eyeing my friend Summer who was with me and just a good friend. He ended up coming to hang out once or twice at the apt we all hung out at. She didn't hang out with him more bc she said she felt a lil uncomfortable. I kept saying I think I heard something about him kinda important I should mention but can't remember what it was. My cousin ended up telling me what that "something" was and it was kinda important. He didn't hang out again after that and then the rest is history. I remember him being built like a tree trunk tho.
What a waste. Fucking stupid asses always get the talent
No one wanted any of Cecil especially Martavious Houston.
Goat
One of my all time LSU favorites, a beast. Your LSU career, they can neva take that away from u Cecil
At least he was able to live a part of his dream in play D1 football for a college power house. I understand that he made some mistakes which prevented him from continuing his career but we all make mistakes. I just hope he is now living a productive life.
Diesel had the best 7 games in college history though.
So what who cares, the guy terrorized women.
So who won the game?
Came here after Crime in Sports. Guy is a monster.
Liar
LSU had one of the best Olines in the schools history. With his physical abilities Cecil would have ran for 2500 yards had he started every game that season.
The first game LSU played after Cecil got hurt was against Florida. Do you honestly think Bob Stoops would not have come up with a scheme to stop Cecil? In hindsight, it was a blessing Cecil got hurt and didn't play against Florida, because it forced LSU to do something other than hand the ball to Cecil 25-30 times.
@@DNSKansas Yeah and also Kevin Faulk (a much better person) might not have gotten his records in 1998
Christy canyon was in this
I remember thinking he was a mix between Hershal Walker and Bo Jackson. But between the ears, this guy....wow.
