how does a 2016 already need o2 sensors

I just did someone’s brakes last week on they’re Tahoe, and after draining all the power steering fluid out of his brake system, ch while I was changing his brake pads I I found the piston seals on one of the calipers was capot so What did the junkyard got the caliper and as I was installing it, I happen to notice some weird grooves in the back of the rotor, pulled his rotor off, and it looked worse than that just the fact that I didn’t even notice that until I was finishing supposedly has me questioning my true mechanic skills 😢 but what’s worse is I told the guy the situation with his rotors showed them to him had him feel them and he still had me put them back on and he drove off. I’m not a professional mechanic so all I can do is suggest and inform I tried doing both, but what if I was a real mechanic and at a real shop if I saw that am I legally allowed to let them leave with the car like that? After servicing the brake system the way I did? I’m guessing if they don’t want to replace the part. Their only option would be to get it towed.!? Right ?
