Lake Erie Perch (Deep Water) (PA Limit)
I finally made it back out on the boat and went to capitalize on this school of yellow perch! The long trip to the deep shelf these fish were sitting on didn’t disappoint. I caught my limit (30) in about an hour and a half using the Garmin Livescope to stay on top of these fish.
My baits used in this video were a “Sabiki” rig tipped with golden shiners as well as French Creek Fishing Company plastics the “Pin Worm” to be specific. These plastics were used on VMC “spin shot” hooks with a tungsten pencil weight.

A solo after work trip trying to search out some big fish turned up some hot and heavy action! Fishing out of Erie, Pa the fishing has been nothing short of amazing! In this video I was using Luhr Jensen dipsey divers on a #3 setting paired with shallow diving “Storm” stick baits.

@@CM-L5P814 Everyokes got their own way! These jumbo perch arnt close to our shores in the summer. During the fall they will starting coming shallow when the water temp cools down and the bait comes in.
I cut those rigs in half 3 hooks r still enough

Oh they didnt go to waste! I keep my livewell pumping fresh water and I live 1.5 miles from the boat ramp, they were cleaned in no time!

I range my speed from 1.7mph -2.1mph depending on what lures I’m running or what the lake current is like.

These are salt cured coho eggs, I tie for a local bait shop. Last year I tied 5,000 😳

What do you use for line ?
@@jasonteick9352 On my dipsey diver rods I use 30lb Power Pro braid and a 17lb Seager fluorocarbon leader. On my Offshore Tackle inline planer board rods I use 20lb monofilament line.

I have LS and love it for fun fishing. You prob could have used traditional sonar and caught same fish like we used to when vertical jigging.

You need to run wire line to go deeper I only had to throw back about 6 this year limit out 12 times 4 times 18.just using 2 poles .
Yes legal size is 15” but there’s hardly any meat on those. Unless it’s 17” and has some shoulders it’s going back for me 🤷🏻♂️ We run leadcore, dipseys and downriggers trust me we can get to where the fish are. BUT not always are the big fish deep 🫣

@@ChrissyEis Over my limit? I kept 3 fish in my livewell to get an accurate weight as the end of the evening. I use water conditioner for my livewell so those fish were as healthy as can be and released perfect after being weighed 👏🏻👏🏻

EXACTLY WHAT DATE WAS THIS? I AM PLANNING TO GO TO ERIE THIS WEDNESDAY 8/14. I CONCERNED WHAT THE HIGH WINDS DID TO THE WATER TEMP. I FISH THE EASTERN BASIN. THX
The fishing should be good, but these high winds we have had for the last 5 days flipped the lake. With the lake flipping it caused a massive sheephead kill. The wind has been steady with 3-5’ waves so I haven’t seen many reports not have I made it out myself. I would start anywhere in the 60-65’ and work your way to 70-75’. The wave report it predicted 1’ or less starting tomorrow 8/13 for a few days. Good luck!

Nice video ,We were at Walnut 7-27 slayed them trolling .....like your jigging style ....way more fun, 7-29 went out the bay northeast 65 FOW trolling did descent
Honestly we’ve trolled so much this year that it got really redundant.. So switched up to jigging and it definitely it was more fun that dragging fish haha. Even the 21” walleye fight way harder. Fishing in that 65-75 has still been nothing short of excellent!

It was definitely a sight! Ended up catching a walleye and some freshwater drum. Wasn’t a good day for me. I missed so many bites I should be ashamed 😂
