I think studio one is the go 2!!! I've used both and like both but studio one is my choice for production tracking and recording vocals. I use Mpc studio 2 for production as well and always drop my projects into studio one for my final touch I'm with you on the switch.

SO7 is trash. Still has issues with Kontakt, and these issues have persisted for several versions now. If you're making beats and working with loops, probably will be fine. I'd still worry about large projects though. Also, I remember saying, "oh, they'll add middle-mouse button arrangement scrolling next version" and that was like 9 years ago.

logic has the best workflow of any DAW i’ve ever used but studio one is the first thing that comes close. also it’s affordable as fuck and available on every platform

Studio One is better from a users standpoint. Logic has better plugins and looks fancier.

Bolo da Producer has a live at 10 on why he likes Logic dmd better vs Impact XT. I’m a S1 user and you nailed it with flexibility. Macros, Shortcuts, and Templates. Its very well throughout and great for users at all levels of experience. Pattern Mode is awesome too if you like working that way. Chord Track awesome, Scratch Pad, and tons of other things that make a big difference. But yes flexibility such as tracks and channels being separate so you can use one instrument vst on more than one track at the same time.

Studio one with its mastering suite sets it apart from them all

As an owner and user of pretty much all the major DAW's the things that Logic does better are; AI instruments, virtual instruments, and vsts. That's about it. S1 is faster and better at almost everything else. If you have s good selection of 3rd party virtual instruments and fx like myself, S1 imo is better.

I have the S4 and I am still waiting for Nord to do the right thing and increase the internal memory to say 5 Gig so you can load all libraries and sounds. It is a shame they have not done so already with what they are charging for the keyboard! They could even do a upgrade for the S4! I mean I can get a 1-2 T memory card for my Nikon camera!

Left Logic in 2017 ...been a user since 2008...switched to studio one and will never go back.

For the price of that keyboard you should not have to use Omnisphere and Keyscape. That’s just my humble and personal opinionT. he Stage 4 is the only Nord that I like completely and the only one that’s worth the price tag (That is from spending 2 hours on it at GC). They really set the bar high this time.

I have a modx8 that I love for piano feel but have the nord stage 4 compact for portability and easy of playing. But the polyphony on the Nord is insane!!! Layering 8 sounds together with no issues, I can't even layer 5 on my modx8 without dropouts. And the knob per function is killer

Appreciate your feedback as a non-Nord user but would to have actual examples of the patches or workflow you are referencing. Compared to M-Audio POS? I would hope for $6k the keybed is superior.
