@@sahanpanditharathne2765 yes ,i think it will work on any painted surface , just adjust power so you don't burn through if the material is thin . I've tried it on a canvas ,tile and plywood . All worked great ,but plywood was my least favourite .

Thanks for your comment ! Im glad you liked the idea of multiple colors . You can also try the same process when engraving pictures on painted tiles . I once engraved a mandala picture on painted tile with 5 or more colors and it turned out amazing .

I wiped off dust with a microfiber cloth and with a brush wiped on waterbased lacquer/varnish something like polycrylic

I am using a Neje 3max with a a40640 laser module . But you could do this with a less powerfull laser module.

Hi in can't really say . Because everyone has a different machine . I have a 10w module and used 4000mm speed at 35% power . But i recommend to make a speed/power test piece in lightburn / top bar menu under ‘Laser Tools > Material Test Generator’/. That's how i figured out my speeds.

also for different paints and materials speed/power might be different.

Yes it works on painted wood too , but in some parts the laser burned through paint and started burning wood ,that's why i tried it on a canvas. You should do some power/speed tests and it will turn out great.

Thanks for watching ! Measurements can be seen at the end of the video . But for this exact 8corner star you need to cut one end of the board on 90° , the other on 45° .I cut my boards to 234mm or about 9 ¹/₄ inches 16pcs in total , you can cut them shorter or longer to make the star smaller or bigger ,and angles remain the same no matter the length of the board. About tools - I use a midrange metabo miter saw for the angled cuts , Makita table saw for ripping [not necessary if you buy correct size lumber] and an 18g brad nailer with cheap white wood glue [ pva glue ]. None of these tools are very expensive and you can build these stars with a miter box and a handsaw , it might take longer , but could save some cash on tools .

Depends on your area , how much does lumber cost and how fast you can make them . I sell them for 30€ one , if they buy 2pcs i eather give free local shipping or 50€ for 2 . Depends if its online or crafts fair .
