absolutely insaneely well done m8. I learned this song on bass today with the tabs you posted on ultimate guitar. What a fucking ride. If I may make a suggestion, the bass is sometimes not very audible, especially when you play the low b string, which Jono loves to so, so in most of your videos it's not very easy to hear the bass. Perhaps turn up the mids a tad bit more to have the bass cut through. Jon uses Warwicks as do I which are so clangy that they rarely face this issue, but it seems your Schecter is not as mid-heavy as a Wick, or maybe it's just the mix. Still, outstanding work. I always look forward to your uploads.
thank you. I know I got some issue with mixing the bass. I try to match the sound of their instrument but it's not very easy with my devices and guitars/bass. Since my covers are instrumentals, the guitars are a little louder and with all the effects, I don't often find the right balance for the bass -_-'. Maybe sometimes I'll redo all the mixes

what's your signal chain for the bass tremolo part around 1:39? Sounds like there's some distortion/fuzz or even a synth on top, or am I mistaken?
no synth, just tremolo + distortion

Man, I remember that we already spoke about it but highly recommend you to consider it again and add vocal part. If you do it by ears, its amazing!
not only by ears, some lives helped me and I also analyse with a software. About the vocals I can't extract them clearly enough to put them in the mix. I can try with some tricks but there're always some parts that aren't good enough
Got a warning on it, adding the vocals blocked the video in some countries :/

Fenomenal, but let me suggest you one thing for the programmed drums, I'm pretty sure that Steve plays on a stack, not on a china (I wish to posses one so I can cover this song on drums but they are mega expensive)

good try man! Very nice playing! I would brighten up that bass, way too little high end and mids, tremolo seems a bit off too. Mix is a bit off, guitars are very quiet. Other than that, drums are great and I really enjoyed it!
thanks. For the bass the strings are a bit "old" (yeah i know...) and are used for metal (so not very bright). And for the mix i'm used to do it with voices, so a bad habit to keep the guitars a little in the back
@@Yzania63 :))) no problem man, you still did a great cover and be proud of that! We live and learn and damn bass strings are freaking expensive! I would take the track im doing a cover of and put it until it peaks at -10 db or so and then mix my cover after it. If it's too loud select all of your tracks and bring them down then level them and bring back what you want dimmer usually kick is loudest. I don't wanna be that know-it-all keyboard warrior guy so if it helps you im glad, if not, im sorry :))
@Cymanytb Sometimes it's a little tricky with my instrument input tracks, got to adjust the eq to not have too much low frequencies (thx to my old bass strings) and in this process i lost a little dynamics. For the guitars in one hand i try to figure out how the original song is mixed and try to replicate it (with my own tools) and in the other hand when i'm recordind it's audio and video at the same time which is sometimes (every time?) a pain cause when it's done, i have to use the audio track recorded with its flaws. Well, yes i can do better, but i'm a lazy man :D and honestly when i'm done with recording i'm so impatient to finish it that i don't take enough time to mix. And listening the same song over and over again during days, i'm glad it's the end :)

@@Yzania63 my advice is to record them in your daw with your audio interface and only after your done with the final mix, shoot the video while listening to it. Then match em in the video editing software. It's easier and it looks perfect if you do it well. If you want to have all your videos done live, then learn the song perfectly and video tape yourself recording them in the daw, this is for 1:1 results but it takes a lot more time. And don't worry, I'm lazy too :)). I think it's a trait that only good artists possess :)))
Why do you use both a drop C and a drop B guitar? And why not drop C# at this point?

@@eduardoGentile720 a difference? no, not really in this song. There're 3 guitars because I did a cover of the album version but you can do it with 2 guitars like them in live. And yes, you can have 2 guitars with the same tuning here, just arrange the notes to your tuning. I advise to use drop C for both guitars or below, because with C# tuning you can't play the outro like them
