Good day Mr Hondo. What brand of baritone saxophone is that? I have 2 holes on the side and go to low Bb, but that one... 4 holes on the side... how low can you go?
4 holes is low A to my understanding.
@@nikolaspasco2087bell is also extended a bit more for the low a. I see it as the low a horns don’t curve out as much as the low bb ones. Hope that helps 🙏
It’s true. All that extra brass tubing gives you precisely one semitone more at the low end! But a lot of classical and concert band repertoire requires that low A.
hello, what mouthpiece do you play? i find that the BL3 is very squeaky for me so i wanted to try the vandoren B7, but i have also heard of the selmer s90. which one should i pick? my goal is to play altissimo with ease.
I play BL5, which has a solistic sound. It means I can have big difference of tone with a lot of harmonics. It's easy for me to have altissimos with this mouthpiece.
Sensei, I know you play on a Vandoren mouthpiece - have you had a chance to try the new Profile (BP3) model? If so, I'd love to know what you think of it.
Yes, I tried the new BP3 last year ! I felt this mouthpiece is easier to play than mouthpieces before, but also it's difficult to have a big difference in color of sound for me. It will be good to play by players who are not used to play the baritone. So, I keep to play BL5 :)
