Oysters in the Tampa Bay have declined by 90% since 1900. Jaime Rogers' research into archeological shell mounds extends the baseline back 2,000 years. He finds significant changes in height and other factors resulting from human impacts. Jaime was a 2019 recipient of a grant from the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club to support this research.
