@@Whatismusic123 yes there is? i mean more in the sense that this piece is not in 3/4 and it doesn't haver the characteristic bass accompaniment pattern of the root on beat one and then chords on beats 2 and 3, however i also understand that a waltz can be in 6/8, this waltz does not sound like a waltz and i do not think it should be labeled as such

what if they just wanted to title it a waltz? getting all technical like this is NOT needed if im being real with you. and either way, the tempo of a waltz is never really specified anywhere, and a waltz just has to be in a TRIPLE TIME SIGNATURE (which 6/8 is in). 6/8 and 3/4 are extermely close to the same aswell my guy. and, I personally like to ignore all these rules, because music is an art, not like programming where you have to do everything exact, its an art, which is subjective, and there are no rules in art.

I think the rhythmic structure reminds me a lot of azali personally, in a good way (well really this entire thing feels in the style of azali but of course much less polished). "this is not a waltz" may be true but just generally what's the point of responding in this tone, this isn't constructive criticism it's just hating. it feels like you want this person to stop doing the thing they enjoy and at least 107 people (myself included) enjoyed hearing the result of

@@triskai I completely agree. Plus, simply put, a waltz is "a dance in triple time". This is in triple time and while it may not follow the standard, classical definition of a waltz, it still is a waltz when boiled down. To the original commenter, no sense of rhythm my ass 🤡maybe try studying some music theory? There are a lot of composers who've used rhythmic deviations (an example is that Schubert uses hemiolas in his Impromptu in E flat Major). While this may not adhere to the strict definition of a waltz that most of us have studied in music, it doesn't mean that it isn't a waltz. No need to be so unconstructive.
