Aye, 3 mutations specially help against Carnos, like both of the speed buff mutations and the one that lets you take less damage from larger playables. (though I pick the speed buffs on pretty much anything tbh)

@@ALunaticWithAShotgun I use no speed buffs 😁 Bleed resistance- reduces dmg from larger species- heal faster by 15%

@@jeremymiller7385 I mean yea that is good against everything else but what do you do when 2 omnis show up and right click on you ? With Dilo I pick speed because of that, on Carno I pick speed so I can get enough distance to turn around and charge. But that is the beauty of having options I guess.

@@ALunaticWithAShotgun well if they get a pounce on me I die if my pack mate don't help. If I see them I turn alot and if I have Bleed try not to run much. Dilo Bleeds out easy. Have enough hours in this game to know every Dino you grow WILL die 😁

@@jeremymiller7385 I see, it makes sense that you don't prioritize speed as much as I do if you are in a pack, but I'm solo more often than not so I often need to run away from groups hence why I pick speed buffs.

Was this a recent change ? Because last time I played it still felt like it was spawning near players.

Maybe, kinda wanna try Deino in the horde test though since now you can get %100 growth boost with a single diet.

I was mostly talking about how bad the Dibble was, I stopped caring about dodging and even then I was only at yellow when the fight was over because most of the hits I took were tail hits.

I mean it took 3 bites just to make him notice I was there, dude must have been high or something.

@@Thedarkydragoni Yea and only managed to hit a proper hit in once, the rest seemed to be tail hits. Also I learned this recently but apparently the more you bite a Dibble's tail the more damage you deal

iirc Rugops is supposed to have a whole different niche (hunting humans) but I get what you mean, making them less different certainly doesn't help.

@@ALunaticWithAShotgun Right but even though it'll be a “Human” Hunter I highly doubt that’s the only thing it’ll be eating. It’ll be a small game hunter much like its larger cousin, niches are often flexible.

@@Grizzly_Rex Yea but for Rugops small game incluıdes humans, Herreras, other small dinos and juvenile dinos. For Carno small game includes dinos like, Omni, Dilo, Galli, Pachy, things Rugops is too small to hunt.

For real, we already got quite a lot of content and still have over 3 months to go.

I mean not really, the only thing that could have been an issue was it's ability to resist bleed but even that's no longer an issue with the new bucking. And it sucked against larger dinos anyway so it's a net positive.

The Carno now is set up to be a small game hunter with speed, able to avoid larger preds, much like a Cheetah

​@@SoW-CE the game also calculates velocity. 1300kg traveling at whatever it's speed (with charge) versus the weight of a creature. That's got a big potential to "hit outside of its weight class". The weight reduction seems to have helped with stamina while running too, which it sorely needs in extended hunts. I think overall it's a good change.

First of all thank you very much, and yea I have no idea why every time this community picks a hotspot it's always one of the least interesting areas in the map. I have a few theories on how south plains became one, one of them being that it's really difficult for Deinos to get there so there is not many of them. Another one is because Ceras only have two spawn areas and the other one is where Deinos spawn so they just pick south plains to be safe from them and Ceras keep spawning there caused it to become a hotspot for everyone else aswell because they wanted to have an easy start by eating the dead juvie ceras.

@@ALunaticWithAShotgun that is a possibilty. i believe its because of "herd mentality". people follow people, not a lot of original thinkers on the island lol. east plains used to be full of players, even stegos that have no food source there, just because its where they followed everyone else. i feel like if they make serious changes to the migration system it will solve the hotspot issue. also with the saltwater mutation deinos have been able to get all over the map much easier. makes sense, since saltwater crocodiles exist in nature.

@@thelastpirate1906 That is true, but I think migrations are not the only issue, diets are kind of responsible for that aswell, at least the carnivoe side of diets. Because carnivore players have no reason to follow migrations, they can stay in hotspots because they can get their food and diets from each other, I think they need to make carnivores more reliant on herbivores. Another thing that might fix the hotspot issue is that they are returning randomized spawns, iirc servers will be able to select if they want random spawns or the current system but officials will have randomized ones, it has it's downsides but I think it'll be a huge help in this regard.

@@ALunaticWithAShotgun oh i agree 100%. i dont feel like carnivores should be able to get nearly as many nutrients from other carnivores. some species, like deino, i understand the need for cannibalism. most of them should be forced to hunt herbivores, considering the devs are aiming for realism. south plains has been the main hotspot for a while now, im sure we dont have much longer before the next spot shows up. im curious where it will be next lol. i rarely play carnivore anymore because its just too competetive even among your own species. at least most herbis are friendly with eachother

​@@ALunaticWithAShotgun They added growth in the last update, takes 30 minutes to reach adult. Terrible decision in my opinion, but they made it that way so mutations can still be chosen. You can use that time to get used to spit though. But I would advise against using blinding spit for a multitude of good reasons, it's something they've really got to address. Just don't use spit in the middle of a chase
