It’s definitely worth the money seeing how many games are in it.
I somehow didn't think about that. You're right, although Most of them are ROMs, it still saves me a lot of time.

Haha, I wrote stupid stuff again xD. I meant (illegal) downloaded games from the www. Technically I bought a "ticket to jail", because even possessing those free downloaded games could get me into trouble.
I have a couple OG Xbox that the cd no longer works so this would be a fun project to learn and play around with. For $100 it is a good bargain saving you so much time and also the 2TB HDD.
Exactly. Unfortunately those drives become weaker and weaker and repairing those is nearly impossible. It's just awesome having all "digital backups" on the HDD.
@@homeforobsoletetechnology So true. I believe for the OG xbox you can swap the drive from another OG system. For the 360 the drive is paired with the motherboard so you would need some program to update another drive.
@@songsan807 This is even worse. I can't imagine what the Microsoft guys thought while making the drives not swappable.
I've been trying to decide about buying one also. I've always wanted one since way back, but never did buy a good used one as I was just buying old PS and I got a GameCube real cheap new many years ago, but now im looking at finally buying an Xbox classic. There's loads of them available and actually cheaper than when I was going to buy one 15 yrs ago. Lol Although im now looking into emulation devices that have thousands of multiple console platforms games so I'm if I want to just invest into that instead of just a xbox.
If I were your, I'd definitely buy one. Those are still quite cheap, but I'm sure the prices will explode eventually. And you can just watch a video showing every single game and write down every game that interests you. I think you know what you can do then :D. Still the GameCube is an awesome console. I still have mine and use it ever so often.

Simple yet pretty cool idea. I love when retro machines become useful. Also I never saw compaq portable 3 clone before, interesting. One thing I needed to mention is; I think you should put flashing lights warning before showing the crt's. It can be dangerous to people with epilepsy.

Being gentle with the small wires yes, especially on and coming from coils also the tuning capacitor being careful not to bend the thin metal plates.

The blue tube looks like an x-ray tube. You can tell by how the anode is angled so the eletrons smash into it and release an x-ray in the direction the anode is angled. Also the red bank of capacitors looks like a pretty big voltage doubler. Probably for driving the x-ray tube since they need around 70KVs. Awsome video! ❤
