    I've mixed Ultracal with water and have mixed water with Ultracal. Didn't seem to matter what way (at least my molds came out ok), but I never quite understood why you should always mix the powder to the water.

    • @MisterjimmyFXC
      @MisterjimmyFXC 22 дня назад

      Either way works.. but when u add the powder to the water, the way that i have showed. The water soaks in the powder quicker and more thoroughly.. which gives u less dry clumps to deal with..

    Hi Jimmy !! Thank you so much for this :) You made the video I was looking for a loooong time ! I still have some difficulty adjusting the dosage tho. I paint regular latex elf ears with this and I feel like sometimes it's too "watery" in a way ? Or maybe I'm using the wrong kind of latex. Mine is Latex Pro from Reschimica with a low viscosity.

    when ever you watch these videos, no one ever tells you what dremel they are using. It would be very helpful to know that.

      Any style dremel will work.. but Dremel 100 works just fine.. dremel 1000 is top dog of dremels. But a simple 100 is a work horse..

    Hey, Jimmy! I know this is an older video so I hope you're able to comment back. If not, just know I love your videos as you are a great teacher and they are very helpful. I had a question based on the concept of painting with latex. There was a video I saw recently of an artist/animator making a stop motion puppet. (Here at about the 6min mark ruclips.net/video/Cqcn1_aIU1c/видео.htmlsi=i3WC0AdESgg8kf6W) He began to paint the outside of the armature a skin toned latex paint and it got me wondering if it would be possible to paint action figures and ball jointed dolls with latex paint to hide the joints. And if the mixture you're using in this video would be a good option for what I'm looking for. Any insight on that would be great! Thank you again and hope to see more from you soon!

      Take Cotton Balls and brush on pieces in the areas you want “charred” with mask making latex or liquid latex until those areas are smooth.

    • @annfosnacht3585
      @annfosnacht3585 Год назад

      The directions that came with my Ultracal 30 say ( 38 parts water to 100 parts Ultracal 30) by weight. Setting time is an average of 25-30 min. when mixed manually. It says not to mix with your hands. Paint mixer, jiffy mixer or paddle is the most commonly used. I haven't used any yet. I'm sure there are other ways but this gives you an idea of increments to work with. I really like how Mr. Jimmy does his.
