The name of this song can't be Brian Boru. Completly different of tha Brian Boru's march. This musical piece is an adaptation of an old traditionnal danse melody coming from French britanny, located in the "Vannettais" (Name of the neighborhood around the city of Vannes in the South Britanny). The dance is named "An Dro" who means a circle, round. A line dance moving to the left and the dancers makes a small circle with their arms.. The dancers on the movie are completly wrong in regard of the original dance. Also the tempo is slower than the video. This melody is a great classic reproduced and adapted by many musician of different countries, for example Carlos Nunez in Spain. (I'm a french traditional musician from britanny). But thanks to chieftains to adapt and promote this melody. But, I don't think that the Chieftains had named this song Brian Boru because they already played the Brian Boru's March in their discography and it's quite different.

This is the Branle d'Ecosse or First Scottish Branle from Thoinot Arbeau (1520-1595). It is still played and danced at "Balfolk" sessions here on the continent.

@bmf0003 This is a Breton tune called 'An Dro'. It is heard regularly on St Patrick's Day on the Champs Elyseé in Paris.

This was my favorite part of The Chieftans concert at Soka University, when the pipe band played and the same lass led more than a hundred people dancing through the concert hall. What a wonderful job Paddy Moloney has.
