3,500 people in our town and we'd get 5,000 people for a varsity football game. Standing room only. The police had to clear a path for us to get up to the field. Homecoming parade was a huge deal. Hay wagons decorated and towed by tractors. The volunteer fire department made up a big part of the parade, and invaritably they'd get a fire call and go peeling out of the parade, taking many spectators with them. Everybody responded to fire calls-weather they were a member of the fire department or not. That was one of our friends or neighbor whose house was burning. Free lunches for the players at the local diner. Such great memories!

I have someone in my life who played football from the time he was old enough to play and now at high school he played and got replaced from quarterback to another position because the principals son got his position. ❤

I have often wanted to comment on this song & how I felt sitting in those bleachers every Friday night. My son played football since he was in Middle School when he got to Quince Orchard High and played his heart out I was watching him every Friday night!! I miss those Friday nights under the lights, I miss all those young men, it goes by so fast!! My boy got lucky, football took him through college and his high school coach helped me to raise him through high school. I tell him how proud of him I am!! I just wanted to say Thank you to all the coaches, teachers, guidance counselors who helped me with my boys. If you get a chance to play hold on & don't let go!! God Bless All who put their time & effort into these young men, I miss those Friday nights so much ❤

I havent cried in 8 years this is the closest I was bc I realized my 2 best friends in high school are going to be gone. Ones going to the navy and the other is leaving state. I don’t think I’ll be able to see them for years and I’ve only know them both for a year but they’re the best friends I’ve had in my life. So yeah it hits me hard…

Memories! My sons played high school football. I was at Friday night football games for seven years. I loved it and miss it. My boys are now 44 and 42, they are such wonderful and honorable men. I do believe sports instilled strong values, team work and sportsmanship. Great song, it brings happy tears to my eyes.

In Alabama, this is almost taken too seriously. Almost. Wish I could go back to those days. But I learned a lot from it, and it helped me be as successful as I've been. Get after their @ss.
