Hey man, I flew with you a bit ago and was wondering if I could join a meeting and where they are
Hey Griffin we meet Monday Nights at The Meriden Airport From 6-8:30pm you can shoot me a Email Aswell of It makes it easier to Contact : Tiezziisaiah@gmail.com
Well, very very well done!.One comment. Consider no flaps when landing with a strong crosswind. Fundamentally flaps are so a slower approach speed can be flown. Not needed here as there is plenty of runway. Slower approach speed = more drift. Great job keeping the aileron in after landing.
Nice shot! Can I feature your plane capture in my project with credit? Thanks!
@@flightmode254 sure 👍
@@IzzyFlys1 Thanks
so how much ground did you drop? you forgot the most important issue
@@Feedback4Utoday in the turn or in general because we made it back
@@IzzyFlys1 thx for reply... in making a 180 degree turn... ie seems a critical issue in deciding if one does the turn or not is if you can... ie how much altitude do you need to make the 180 turn?
@Feedback4Utoday honestly there’s no specific altitude I’d say it’s mostly depending on Ground Speed/ climb angle
33kts crosswind with almost 0° crab angle upon landing? Not a chance buddy.
@@copkhan007 full vid is uploaded on my page 👍
i know this is an old video, but did you like flying 520AT?
Loved it , I still contemplate going back to get rechecked out in it
@@IzzyFlys1 i'm an aspiring Sport Pilot, and talking to L2FCT about training. you are happy with the instruction?
Cessna 172 has a maximum demonstrated crosswind component of 15 kts....hmmm
@@cpy only demonstrated not limit
@@IzzyFlys1 I guess the limit is the rudder but not sure how I’d feel about hitting the limit
Exactly...demonstrated not limit. Again, super job with this landing. If you had hit the real limit due to not having enough rudder, it is clear to me you would have known and taken the appropriate action. You mentioned the possible rudder limit so you knew that was a possibility. You didn't reach that. @letsgofly5222
Nice landings ... Ive been to MMK and Robertson myself .. Nice airports ..
👍
Gotta meet you some time!
@@StayUpStrack we actually did Meet idk if you remember you came by to Meriden One Monday to drop off Flyers for your 182rg , and you met me and Carlos and stayed for some of our Meeting
Nice brother! I was recommended this video after watching my 42B landings! Sweet.
I’d bring it in directly across the the river. Touchdown speed would be about 6 kts.
This Is one of the best approaches for an engine out if you have a lot of altitude .
i always simulate engine out by keeping the engine running all the way to touch down
do all the students just sit there with their phones in hand surfing social media while you teach them flight skills ?
Wow so beautiful!
@@GriffinLariviere-u8b Thanks Griff Uou coming This Fall for the Young Eagles Rides again ?
As a VFR only pilot this is exciting! (Grabs popcorn 🍿)
@@AlphaKilo.Warrior More to Come!
Beautiful dusk landing. Love This airport.
@@AlphaKilo.Warrior that’s cause you da man !
Why would you teach trying "the impossible turn"? More importantly, when you're at pattern altitude is it really the impossible turn??? My opinion only but they call it that for a reason.no?
What’s the point of doing this
Spotting for pennies on the ground. Hey, flying ain’t cheap
It's simulating what you would do if you lose engine power at cruise altitude when you're right above (or very close to) a viable landing spot, like a runway. You're required to demonstrate this to get a commercial pilot license.
Civil Air Patrol's cadet orientation flights are some of the absolute worst "drug pushing" known to mankind. I cannot express how much money I have poured down the drain flying all because somebody talked me into being a cadet!

@@AlphaKilo.Warrior This was prob 4/5 pm and sounds good we definitely gotta do some flying for sure
The comments here are unexpected. As if this is unusual, illegal or dangerous. I had a friend who spiraled down over the runway touchdown zone for every landing. It was his standard approach.
The most adorable little girl, the headset's mic reaches out all the way to her ear on the other side lmao
😂😂
Well done!
When I got my commercial - full deadstick "spiraling down" got very good at this - in a Citrabria - very tight and slow - just on the edge of a spin...NO power allowed. Could save your life getting through a "hole in the clouds" while VFR, or lining up for the tight meadow landing after an engine failure.
Looks great! Reminds me to practice this!
@@livnrluvsng Thanks!
I bet the FAA will give you a call soon.
@@farfetch7 why is that 😂
I would also ask why?
@kfcnmp @ Tom I’ll grab the popcorn for this
@@IzzyFlys1 Roger that!

Looks like a great flying day. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful crosswind landing. Love all the aggressive left aileron, necessary to keep that side from lifting.

Im glad you keep at it with the pov videos. Not only its a great view but its a good way to stay current. Altough its a bit tough to read modern avionics.
Thanks ! And Yeah I tried seeing if I could tweak the adjustments to make it easier to see the panel but it didn’t help much

The only thing she could reach with her foot was the mixture, prop, and throttle lmao. God bless you man. Had to be the best feeling in the world!
For Sure 😂
One thing I've learned by reading through comments on these types of videos....is to turn the comment section off lol. I swear, certain pilots must be the most judgemental and JEALOUS "know it alls" in the world. We all know what you're saying when you say 33kt cross wind. It really isn't that deep, and certainly not worth rushing to the comments to tell you exactly what the weather was that you experienced at that exact time in your life. Anyway, when my time comes, I either won't post or I'll turn the comments off lol. Hell of a job landing that plane in those conditions.
Lot of planes there for such a tiny airport.
Butter
Definitely a good practice video for learners
Absolutely
Damn 172 with gpws
This can be practiced at altitude by referencing the altimeter and performing a simulated take off. Under real emergencies, I've seen this turn completed by even a Moonie with a total of 21 seconds from wheels up to engine failure. Math would indicate he had not more than 250' AGL. Not only did he manage the turn, he made a second descending turn to get it on the runway.
It can be but not realistic to train the real thing. You need to train to not “force” the turn (and stall/spin) and have an accurate visual reference how that turn and descent looks like in relation to altitude and runway position. Ground effect can be another factor.
@@rockstardonut777 I've seen it done in 21 seconds from wheels up, not simulated.
@@markjones7063 no for sure! I’ve also “done” it with propeller windmilling. I think blanket rules such as “under 1000ft land no turn back to the runway” that I was taught are too strict, especially when ahead is a very densely populated area, but behind is the airport. and in reality people will attempt the turn, so we might as well practice it, and consider various situations (altitude, wind, weight, etc.
