I think one interesting thing you can mention is that the passage at 5:40 is in D flat major, which is a tritone above the tonic of the original key (G minor)!
Short snatch of synthesised sound effects Crescendo
4 bar chordal riff (F C Am Am) in repeated quavers by synthesised piano Modal vocal melody by solo female contains: motif A G E D, a descending scale (fell from your heart), syncopation, scotch snap Modal vocal melody often clashes with harmony Rising and falling harp arpeggios at end of first vocal phrase Maracas join on voices second phrase (semiquavers) Rising harp arpeggios Piano chords continue in quavers
4 quavers emphasised by drumkit Louder dynamics Backing singer on first line of chorus (Florence's voice multitracked) Solo vocal on second line or chorus Backing singer on third line of chorus (Florence's voice multitracked) Solo vocal on last of chorus Ends with a discord (F against A minor) Harp arpeggios rising and falling
Vocal part differs from verse 1 - improvised freely around main pitches Multitracked vocal harmonies added Harp has a new ostinato accompaniment in quaver arpeggiated pattern A rising phrase on became (stepwise/scalic)
Melody is freely decorated - upper auxiliary note on moon Harmonies created using multitracking First and third lines harmonised Second and fourth lines solo Conclusive ending as voices A coincides with tonic chord
Same harmonies for verse and chorus but with e added to F major chord Descending semiquaver arpeggios in the harp begin on E (inverted pedal point) Wordless vocals with rising perfect 4th which is repeated
2 bar keyboard riff (played 4 times) Riff presents pitches C Eb C Ab G in broken octaves Synthesised drum sound on every crotchet beat Heavy thud on first beat of every 2 bars
6 bar phrase Based on chords Ab G Cm Fm Ab G Sustained chords sung by multi tracked backing vocals Wordless solo female voice improvises above backing vocals Keyboard and percussion noises change (synthesised backbeat on 2nd and 4th beat of each bar - syncopation)
Swet dreams are made of this sung by solo female 2 bar riff from intro used as accompaniment Some of them want to use you is multitracked to create harmony mainly in parallel 6ths
6 bar phrase based on chords Ab G Cm Fm Ab G Solo female improvisation voice is different Keyboard bass is different
Keyboard riff from introduction played twice
First 2 bars of sweet dreams are sung as a solo Multitracked harmony in parallel 6ths on who am I to disagree
Since the horn part has no key signature, is the horn in the tune of E flat? Are there such horns, or do you play with one in F - but where are the accidentals?
These are really good notes but, towards the end you have written that C major is the dominant key of G major when it is, of course, the subdominant.
To God Be The Glory. Thank you for giving us your one and only Son to died 🙏 💙 for all humankind. Joy To The World 🌎 ✨️ ♥️ ❤️
Lifesaver! Thus really helped me understand the music a lot better, and has helped me understand sheet music as someone who does not play a melodic instrument (🥁 Drums) Will be revisiting and recommending to my peers!

Hello from mrs longergans class
Is it not F C Am Am at the first verse?
Theme A comes in at 0:29 Chord changes to Eb at 0:41
Very interesting and illumine in things I had no idea existed, but whenever I hear this piece I always think of Flanders and Swann and 'Ill Wind'.
amazing perfumoance
prelude polka - 0:17 paddy's polka no. 2 - 1:49 millstream reel - 2:57
the organ is more prominent on this one, where is the original version?
