Standard takeoff from a private grass runway and a 3 point landing. Calm winds, smooth air, great sunset flight. This is a very low effort video, I was going on a solo flight for the pure joy of it and simply stuck the camera on the window and hit record. This is the result....

Really like your 150 video and watch it from time to time. Just a suggestion, but you might want to wait a couple of seconds after you yell "Clear" before you pull the starter handle. There wasn't even 1/4 a second between calling "clear" and the prop turning. Anybody that happened to be around the front of your airplane wouldn't have stood a chance of responding or getting out of the way. Just a thought. Thank you. Mike Kelly, Old School CFI

Another 747 short field lading strip. Try flying the C150 at 450 yards.You can fly a C150 onto a 100 yards no trouble. A check CAA test officer asked me to do that. NO TROUBLE>
These are grass fields, not short fields:) The 150 will easily land in 300 feet but you’ll need nearly 5 times that to get safely airborne again off grass with only 100hp.

Thank you for a well done Video, am 76 and I remember with fondness my flight training in a rented C150 and all the good people who had the same interested, my flight training stoped after I had, my float rating, C170-B, interstment, twin raring ( C337 ) bush flying (. Super/cub ) ( more fun than a barrel of monkeys.) and now after 40 years and 5000 hours of flight time, I have lost my medical, but not the desire to take to the sky’s, is very strong still yet,,,,, so think you for doing such a great job in putting this together. 99 percent of my flying was in Alaska where we lived for over 50 years, and I only wished I would have recorded our many adventures, close calls, beautiful sights, and fishes trips, skiing trips all without the benefit of a runway, flat ground and big tires on the bird was all you needed. Thanks again.
Great story Keith. You've had some really unique flying experiences up in Alaska. I always dreamed about doing something like that but never did. I'm pushing 75 now and can relate to your feelings for the 150 in the early days and the folks that got guys like you and I started way back when. I cherish those times and my old instructors. Ok, subscribed. Cool video. Ya took off from my local ( KSTF) and showed me that there is at least one fly in group in the area. Was really hoping you’d land on the strip out front (M51). If you ever do, and see a silver PT Cruiser, come say hi. I wanna check out your 150. If I ever hit the lottery and gain my PPL, I want a Cessna 150.
That’s great! Yes, there is a very active flying community here. If you’re interested, you should get involved. There’s a fly in/drive in pancake breakfast the first Saturday of every month at KUBS that’s open to everyone

my dads was n3478j...it was sold...a student pilot got into power lines..got killed..destroyed the nice 150.

Grass strip hopping! Now that looks like a lot of fun! I fly a 1960 Cessna 150 out of a grass strip about 40 miles west of Houston, TX. Use 10 degrees of flaps for takeoff. Am going to try your method of "popping" 10 degrees out at 50 mph. Mine's got the "Johnson" bar. Been flying 150's since 1963 when I was a kid and can attest to the little ship's durability and fun factor! It never gets old! Thank you for a great video and keeping out the stupid music! I'm a simple guy. I see a Cessna 150 video, I click Like. I don't hear annoying music the whole time, I subscribe. Great stuff! The 150 just can't be beat for affordability and convenience.

Thank you! Yes, flaps were used. The 150G has 40 degrees of flaps which were used on landing. On takeoff, I’d begin the roll with no flaps then at about 50mph drop 10 degrees. This is a quite effective technique when flying off grass.
