No more Dana 60 junk!!! New 14 bolt front axle build part 1 fabricating the truss
Ok I had to log into my account to msg this i am a journeyman carpenter who works on mine and my families vehicles on the side I got hobbies that need work space. Ur box build is exactly what my I am saving up for is except a 2 more boxes. But all the people who say this guy must be a rich dude to afford all this. He is just a working guy who can save up or plans ahead. I was working 16 hour days 7 days a week to save up to buy my trucks and build and work on my hobbies. This guy worked HARD for those tool boxes and like my dad he used the same box for 15 years until he could afford a nice one as a diesel mechanic. My dad was called rich because he finally got something big enough to hold half the tools he spent his life buying one piece at a time. Look at this guy's snap on tools there not new there well used. Meaning he didn't just buy them all at once he has over the years bought piece by piece. That's how most guys do it. So people stop giving this guy a hard time he worked hard. He wants to give guys like me an honest opinion on icon tool boxes and his set up. So just let the man show the good and the bad on his set up and let guys who work extremely hard try to get a honest review without seeing people crap on or judge someone they have 0 idea of what this guy did to have the ability to buy a good toolbox setup. I appreciate this video because I have alot of tools for my hobbies, trucks and work and need space and trying to pick the boxes has been a pain in the butt. I didn't think about the toppers and know more can be added onto the sides so if I do it right if might have enough storage to hold all my tools and some replacement parts for my diesel. Keep up the good videos and u got a sub from me. 🫡
I searched up "12 valve belair" thinking I'd get random secondgenery with gay wheels, this blew my mind when this was the first thing that came up! absolutely amazing car and build!!
Haha thanks! It was defiantly one of a kind, I sold it to a guy on the east coast some where…. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t regret it!
Looks fun as hell!
How much flut did you run to.your ceiling i have a unit im just installing
To the ceiling prob about about 10-11’
You will like until it starts having issues, like the drawer retention system they use starts to fail and you can't get replacement parts for it, sure you can order them from HOBO Freight but the problem is they rarely ever deliver once you order the parts. People have been waiting as long as 8 months for broken lock parts and still don't have them. this old quote comes to mind, Quality is not cheap and cheap is not quality.
Well, it’s been three years of every day abuse and I haven’t had one issue. I had to replace my grip latch on my snap on a couple times. I’ll take my chances for a $60,000 savings😂 I own a lot of Snap-On Tools where it counts every good mechanic knows that every different tool manufacturer has their strong and weak points. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I appreciate you watching in your comment. Happy holidays.
Smartest kid I know - great video son!
Where did that car come from my aunt had one green 6 cylinder 3 on the tree in Lincolnton NC just wondering if that is the same car thanks John
Awesome video Jesse! Proud dad moment👌
Cool video. Fun to see it in person after finished.
Wait, I know that guy.
So that's an untouched lq4 6.0 stock bottom what size Turbo and how many lbs of boost
Precision 76mm, 15psi is about all I want to push on stock rods etc…
What kinda transfercase is that?
I am looking a purchasing the 73in box hutch and side locker. In your other icon toolbox video, you talked about having issues with taking them apart if you need to move them. Would upgrading the bolts to better quality help at all or do you think it was all just the power coating causing the issue?
I would run a tap through the hole and anti-seize the bolts and it would be fine, the bolts themselves were a decent quality
@@rosinsautofab1956 Ok thank you.
I remember when my Dad would not let my sister buy a Volkswagen and we did not shop at the Walmart startups because they sold so much foreign stuff. I still have Porter cable power tools made in Tennessee, craftsman hand tools forged in Springfield Mass, and reasonably priced Snap-On tools sold from little bread trucks. I understand getting the most bang for the buck from Chinese and Mexican workers, but that's why our factories have been bulldozed and Main Streets in Youngstown and Gary are wastelands.
Yep, times have changed and our own government has sold us out, I can’t afford most is made products, I try wherever I can. Hobo freight employs more American workers than snap on and you would be pretty suprised at how many tools on the tool truck are done over seas, I was on the snap on truck last week and I almost bought a set of blue point needle nose pliers and they were stamped Taiwan. Maybe trump will help turn some of these issue around…🇺🇸 thanks for the comment
@@rosinsautofab1956 You are right! One of my sons who is in the trade - at least for now - has a used MAC box with lots of Taiwan-made tools (won't buy Chinese) and my SAE hand downs. I did like your video and wish you the best. Keep up the good work!
My dream job
If only it was a paying job👌
🤟
Gettin it!!
We try!! Wasn’t enough for a podium that day😭
That’s a cool video !
If they had slate grey with black trim I’d be sold. Debating on the 72” USG or the Black 73” ICON
That would be awesome, I’d take slate grey over my green
Looks even gnarlier on board holy shit
Ya those wide angle lenses that the film crews make everything look flat, that hill is steep
I almost put my go pro in your rig. You already have one tho 🤘🏻
Dang you should have, your videos are so much better lol, that track map and speed is so bad ass!!
@ I’ll get you one these times. I need more go pros and I could get more onboard shots. Slowly and always upgrading my equipment. Nice channel btw some good videos
@ thanks, I’m so dam busy all the time I don’t get to do alot of editing and posting anymore 😭
Nice work looks fun
Awesome. You are driving better and better
Yikes!
Hey We are making trebuchet for our project Can you pls helps us
I had to push my ICON tool box out the back of the van to get the cops off our ass! I have to say, it held up pretty good after that squad car hit it and launched 😮.
ONLY JUST SIMPLY WILL SAY THAT I HAD A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE IN HIGH SCHOOL JUST LOOKING AT THIS POSTED OF THIS BEAUTIFUL 1957 CHEVROLET 210 LOOKING AT WHEELS ON IT MY FRIEND DID NOT BELIEVE IN HUBCAPS SAID HIS 55 CHEVROLET 210 LOOKED MEANER AND RACED IT AND TODAY HE STILL HAS IT😅
Would you rather by a Toyota at Mercedes price Or A Toyota at a Daewoo price. Daewooooooooooooooooooo
that toolbox is still way too expensive. No mechanic makes enough money to buy that. That's at least a months pay. It is irresponsible to spend that much on a tool box.
Well I’m a mechanic and I bought it with cash and not credit. Being organized maximizes my production as I charge flat rate, this box has paid for itself
Killer hot rod
You got awesome vids man
Thanks for watching!!!!
My crawl box does the same thing, I'll have to pull it and check the seal. While I'm in there I will upgrade the vent line too. Mine also seems to leak between the black-box and the transfercase ugh so many leaks
I haven’t had an issue since the new seal and bigger vent line 👌
Where did you buy it from
Cover craft
210 DelRay, slight trim and upholstery upgrade model. Available '54 thru '58, only on the two door versions for '57.
This is not a del ray, thanks for watching
Great overview and pointers and thoughts. Thanks and appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
How does copart work with the minimum $600 deposit they want? If i buy a car or trailer for a couple hundred bucks, would there be $400 in fees? Or would i spend less than that $600 still? I dunno if I worded that great, but im looking at wrecked cars and trailers that go for a few hundred dollars or less, just don't understand the fees with the deposit part
The 600$ is refundable or you can use it towards whatever you buy, if your purchase is less than your deposit you would get a refund, there is a lot of fees on top of the auction price so beware of that
Your toolbox setup is unreal. I have a 56 inch US general double stacked. And I want to upgrade it to an icon setup like yours.
Going on over three years now of seven day a week use still no issues. It’s in good shape as the day I bought it other than some scratches.💪🏼
Same here…..
I hate know cost
?
@@rosinsautofab1956 thinking that setup extremely expensive
@@shepherdsfleetservicesllc8147 13k depending on your area, I think I went over that in the video but I don’t remember 👍🏻

Looks like a fun project. Excited to see it in about a month.
I think that snapon setup is closer to 75k.(if I can believe what someone did of their snapon tour) I'd buy 3 of those ,before I'd buy snapon and deal with any idiosyncrasies of the icon.
Keep the six,!
Thanks.... Nice old 57.
Beautifully done.

MAN THAT 56 BEHIND YOU WOW OUT OF THE TRI CHEV TO ME THE 56 IS THE CREAM , OF THE CREAM
It looks like your drawers aren't opening all the way. I had the same issue. All you have to do is open the drawer till it stops and then give it a firm slow pull and it'll open the rest of way. Only have to do it once per slide. My guess there is a build up of grease in the back keeping it from opening all the way. Helps if you do one side of the drawer at a time. Absolute game changer for me
Yep, figured that out right away lol, thanks
