It doesn't matter which government gets in, the problem is our money, most countries tokens (or digital currencies) are created out of thin air, money is just the middle of all the goods and services so we can easily swap/trade, money used to be gold, gold was good because it was scarce (its hard to mine), it was easy to carry, it was fairly easy to verify, it doesn't deteriorate/rust 1oz is still 1oz over the centuries, and other properties that made it a great median of exchange. The Roman Empire failed because it started diluting the monetary supply by adding cheap metals and scrapping bits off of coins, people figured it out, its a long story but the Roman Empire would still exist if they'd not messed with the money. Today we have paper money, thats bad enough, but even thats dwindiling, most of our money is simply a giant account book and digital numbers, new digital numbers can be created out of thin air, a huge amount of these numbers are created through IOU's in the form of mortgages, the numbers are created and as the principle is paid down the numbers are destroyed but the problem is there's interest on the loan, so new money has to be created to cover that. Even in an ideal scenario the BOE says inflation should be 2%, have you ever asked why? Some might argue its because you want money to move through hands quickly, in fact the volition of money is one of the metrics the fools hold in the highest regard, but lets think about a vandal breaking a shop window, given the high movement of money theory you might say this is great because the shop owner has to hire the glass man and the glass man has to order materials and so materials guy gets an order in his factory and the glass man goes for a pint in the local after he's done etc etc... but if we really think about it then its a distortion because the shop keeper would have invested in his business with that money, he may have bought a bread maker and then sold fresh bread and employed a baker for example instead of dealing with the destruction, this is how war works too, the price has to be paid somewhere. Anyway I'm blabbering on but inflation is sometimes caused by supply shock (like this oil thing now) but mostly its just an increasing amount of units of account (or tokens or pounds) against goods and services, 10 years ago there was 10p for every carrot in the world but now there's 20p and the level of carrot production is almost unchanged so we haven't "grown" out of the situation either ( he carrot example is not accurate, I just made it up, but you see what I'm trying to say)

I am no expert or anything, but I have an idea. Indian Scammers often get people to take out cash from ATM's, and then get the scammed person to buy google play cards for them. They do this as it is essentially a way to remove bank control from the money so it doesn't flag as a scam, and the bank and the authorities basically can't trace the funds once it's withdrawn as cash. Well if it works against people, don't see why it can't work FOR people in reverse. I would say that's what you need to do, minus the google play cards. Take the money out of the system and "lose" it. Don't do it in England. Claim the money was spent on holiday, and bring the gold back with you. Ideally you would buy gold in sovereigns, but in this situation it may be more convincing as jewellery. If you are queried upon reentry, you can say "I have had this necklace / rings / bracelets for years". Now with empty accounts, claim benefits as needed. When you need the cash, sell the gold in the UK. Hopefully the favorable rate abroad plus the time held would see the initial sum back accounting for inflation. Alternatively, and arguably more risky would be to buy a privacy crypto currency and keep it on your own local wallet somewhere. Much simpler, but likely more risky to loss, and not for everyone.

Can i just add that even if you had money saved elsewhere you would still have to tell them so it would have made no difference.
