@KnightOfZero117 Last time we fished there we didn't have to pay a fee but I'm guessing only when there is an event is when they charge to enter. The first year we fished there it was completely empty . Also thanks for the info on the crabing regulations he was just doing it for fun,only catch and release

@AliasHSW yea I think they should promote the event more than they do it mostly reaches people that already follow the attending youtubers.

@Chris-ly2lh it's called a sibiki rig size 6 and usually you do have to jig it but in this instance we would cast out and before it even hit bottom the macks would bite

Sometimes I do put a bit of squid on my hooks but this time I was using the sibiki without bait. It's more convenient when you don't have to rebait 5 hooks after each cast.

I usually use a size 6 sibiki but if I see people start landing the bigger macks I'll switch to a 4

I wasn't underhand casting because it was early in the day and there weren't any tourists out and about. Also the pier was extremely empty since it was raining but yea it's true that overhead casting is prohibited. I'm curious about how they pursue if someone does overhead cast,I see you say they will red flag you but what does that do?

@@TAILGATEFISHING - Trust us. It's just not worth the trouble. And, yes, the CDFW do work the coastline piers.

Yea, I did some offshore fishing Saturday out of longbeach, and it was bad from the boatramp all the way out till Pier j. Once you get past the breakwall, the water looks 100 times better.

I had someone on my story say it was a "midshipman" fish and I believe it is from the google images

Thanks for the support,I've tried freshwater fishing and I am horrible. Me and some buddies did some aqueduct fishing and in 12 hours only got one bite and couldn't even land that one.

Yea since it was my first time ever hunting I was a bit worried about bears so I tried to keep on trails where I can see a good distance all around only, but thanks for the comment I'll surely take a different approach next season.

Yea, the water quality in many beaches in socal are extremely dirty and full of bacteria to the point where most news stations have reported on it and said waters are unsafe for swimming. There are also warning on the beach itself about the unsafe conditions.

Hopefully the barracudas are in by then so we can get out there and flop some fish on the deck
