See I look at the rule of cool over playstyle all the time. It sometimes gets me in trouble. Like for the 10 thunders, only one I think is cool is Jacob lynch. But playstyle wise he is difficult for me.

Did you made a introduction video about the game? Maybe something I could send other players who only know DnD and see what this can be with explanations and some visual stuff.

Love this content! It's nice to hear a few diffrent peoples opinions on the playstyles to each master. I picked up a lot of Malifaux models a few yeras ago, mainly for painting some awsome models and from which backstories I liked. This have resulted in quite a mix of keywords and fractions in my collection. A small chaos to be honest, that have been stored away for a while... But now this will change. I just bought the rulebook and expansion books and will aim to learn to play this year. And this serie is great for me to know what to start with as a noob in table top games, and how to priortize what to add to my collection to have a beginner friendly playable crew. Very much looking forward to the Arcanist and Resurrectionist-videos in this topic, as these are coolest fractions! ;)

For manifested powers I gave out as a fatemaster i had one player who was haunted by this strange visage of a skeletal undead horse that followed him everywhere. The player was also pursuing the death marshal advanced pursuits During one of his fate steps after his death marshal mentor died he broke off from the death marshals and finally accepted a pact with this strange horse apparition becoming a ghost rider. So as a manifested power he got the ghost horse as a totem.

This is a great great video. I look forward to the other videos in this series.

As it was an army game i belived it was a different scale and they dont say what scale the minis are so i bought one of the big robots on sale figuring i might use it as a dreadnaught in 40k or a mad scientist creation in call of Cthulhu. It was knight sized... I now own more of the minis but mostly for TTRPGs and not the game itself

Very good stuff! The one I find catches people the most is not getting to draw a hand for free, people coming from Malifaux are always shocked by that. Also M2e to M3e actually took on a few things from TOS, so fingers crossed the eventual M4e gets even more like the better game

I'm so disappointed that I was late to the Malifaux party. I got the two armies I wanted for Christmas, and by now nobody is playing this at all. I love the miniatures and I'll paint them up, but I'm disappointed to never get my Gremlins and Shaolin monks on the field.

I hate pointing this out on a posted vid. So I hope I'm wrong. But I think if you already have ranks in a particular skill, you need to spend +1 more to advance in that skill. So for your example at 6:30 of having two ranks in a particular skill, you would need to spend 3 XP to go from 2 ranks to 3 ranks. That's on the second to last paragraph on p 318 in the Core book. Apologies in advance if I'm incorrect here. If you have 0 ranks, you pay 0 XP. I actually misunderstood this, so thank you pointing this out!

i recommend rune warriors agnostic skirmish game.

I do 25ss. Basically a starter box structure. I do old m2e turf war as a strategy since its easy and better than current turf war for less models, harness leylines to show scheme marker mechanic, and assassination since people like to be rewarded for killing the enemy leader. I usually have the crews pre-deployed and i gonfirst to show them an activation. I guide them through the first turn and then let them play the 2nd and 3rd turn on their own and if they want to keep going to end the game and if theres time then great.

Love the summary! One question: is the weekly fiction that accompanied the 2013 "Malifaux Dead of Winter Event League" no longer considered canon? There were chapters for Tara, Karina, and that zombie guild guy from "Upon Reflection". (There are also some other characters that I've never heard of who get chapters. The story was influenced by player-submitted data, and - based on how their chapters end - I wouldn't guess that their factions did particularly well.) I can find what purports to be an compilation PDF of these stories through google, but I'm not sure how "legit" it is. (There doesn't seem to be anything official on DriveThruRPG, and all information about the campaign on Wyrd's site seems to have been taken down.) If it is actually legitimate, then I think it represents the most direct source of information that we have ever gotten for Tara and Karina's origins (they explain how they met each other and The Nothing Beast, and also show the moment that Tara gets that hole through her chest). Anyway, keep up the good work!

Ramos arrest was the best thing to happen to the arcanist. He used them for is own means(poor Karis). I think id be fun if got an other side faction and the conflict with the current arcanist. On another note. I could of sworn the old mole man lore involved ramos abandoning miners so marcus could use them for experiments.
