"The Lady Is A Tramp" by Bernie Cummins and his orchestra on Perfect 7-11-10 with vocals by Connie Barleau recorded in 1937 and played on a Victor Victrola 8-30X.
For this series I've decided to step the camera back from the machine AND close the lid, which I don't often do because I love watching the mechanism work. It's a little more boring to watch, but for these videos it really does make for better sound reproduction. At least you can check out the cool scarves my wife picked out to drape each machine. Enjoy!

This is "Let It Rain, Let It Pour" performed by Cliff Edwards (aka Ukulele Ike) on Perfect 11563 from 1925 recorded on a Victor III external horn phonograph. This disc has a straight radial crack leading right up to the edge which shows just how forgiving these acoustic phonographs are. With just a few ticks you can still enjoy this terrific recording on "red" shellac.

This is a 1921 of William Sloane singing "I Wonder If You Still Care For Me" on Regal disc 9140 played on a Victor III external horn phonograph. This style of singing was certainly dying out by this time which would explain why this disc is in such great, unplayed shape.
