Should i buy xbox controller or hori fighting commander octa? I play street fighter 6 and guilty gear strive. I am not sure about horis 6 button layout. I think im Fine with heavy punch/kicks placement in r1 and r2. Or maybe it would make difference?

Is the game alive? I have it for the wiiu and I want to buy it for the switch is it still worth it?

I personally love to use keyboards, primarily because it's what I'm used to (not having access to expensive arcade sticks also) and it just feels good

ARMS was my first "fighting game" back when it was one of the only games on the switch at launch. I miss it. A 2D platformer fighter game akin to smash bros would work so well. Min min in smash proves that. Me and the 6 other ARMS fans are still waiting for a game that will never happen

I really wish the D-Pad was not omni directional. You can do inputs you didn't even press, example you can press up by pressing Left or Right, if you slightly move your finger up. That's extremely annoying. The Joy Con has a better D-pad because you're never going to jump accidentally by pressing the buttons too fast.

Lola Pop's unique ability is used by holding the dash button in the air. this allows you to bounce around. Sad that no one seems to know.

I'm still hoping one of these days that ARMS gets a sequel that can further improve some aspects that people might've felt about the game when it launched. More content aside, stuff like a full-on campaign/story mode and learning bits and pieces about the game's lore and it's cast of characters, adding a bit more depth into the ARMS gameplay to fill a bit of that competitive nature, etc. I adore ARMS as a series and sad that it's planned comic series has since been on a indefinite hiatus (potenially canned at the process). I do hope Yabuki can let the IP shine better in other factors like maybe an animated feature that could take visual cues from Spider-Verse (or Puss in Boots: The Last Wish), even an Anime series that explores the lore and competitive sport of ARMS to the characters and world itself. It's got tons of potential that shouldn't be left out like that. Rather they do more with a new IP than only him and his team doing only Mario Kart titles for a long time.

Another interesting fighting game is Indie Pogo. Like Smash Bros or other similar games, it is a platform fighter, but it has you constantly jumping.

Uh, excuse me, you didn't mention my favorite game, Captain Arthur Obscureicus vs the Mechanics of Malice, which is the world's only 3.5D action-commands inverted fighter with two-shed cancels, so this video is objectively the worst video. Also, some of my favorite very strange fighting games: -Mega Knockdown A turn-based fighter. It's not the only attempt at this idea, but by far the best-realized one -DiveKick I don't think this one needs introduction -Inflatality The wacky inflatable waving arms guy fighting game. You can't move your base, just lean your body and flail wildly. is it good? of course not, but it's very silly One other small point: I object to you using footage of Kill La Kill IF while talking about arena fighters not being suitable for tournament play. it's not a great game, but it's one of the most viable arena fighters for tournaments out there, although not as popular as the Ninja Storm games. But it's far better than say, Jump All-Stars or the One Punch Man game.

Yeah I have a dualsense controller controller and switch out the button ribbons with a mechanical switch buttons. Now it's my favorite controller to use for fighting games

I like to call stickless fightsticks "fight boxes" and I hope it catches on in the fgc one day cause everyone just calls them hitboxes
